Jobbik demands making refugee reception stations closed facilities
Budapest (MTI) – The radical nationalist Jobbik party demands making the refugee reception facility in Debrecen in eastern Hungary and also reception stations at other locations into closed facilities.
Jobbik deputy leader Istvan Apati told a demonstration attended by around 300 people near the facility’s entrance in Debrecen that the party’s supporters should make preparations for self-defence. Deputy chair Karpat Z Daniel and party MP Gergely Kulcsar demanded the re-introduction of border police with immediate effect and moving refugee stations outside residential areas.
Around a hundred people wanted to march to the facility’s entrance but police stopped them. The demonstrators then sang the Hungarian national anthem and left the site.
