Luxury settlements in Hungary: where the richest families live
According to penzcentrum.hu, the total net income per dweller is approximately two and a half times bigger in the “luxury settlements” than in the most split off regions. But where do the wealthiest Hungarian families live and how much do they earn?
By the newest survey of the Central Statistics Office analysing the living standard in households, the sum on income/person grew in vain in Hungary as they still haven’t reached the pre-crisis level of net income in real terms. Not to mention that the dynamic polarisation of social classes gives a quite alarming account.
While the rate of the middle class has been decreasing for years, the rate of the upper, upper-middle and lower classes have been increasing in the population. Moreover, the split of social classes can be traced geographically as well: out of the seven regions of Hungary, the income/person is still the highest in the Middle Hungarian region where the population can manage the household from 105 thousand forints. This sum is only 76 thousand in the northern region of the Great Hungarian Plain.
The difference is even bigger if we look at families’ earnings by small regions instead of the seven big regions. If we analyse the fresh statistics of the National Country Development and Country Planning Informational System, we can see that people living in the richest regions are basically feasting. The total net income/dweller is approximately two and a half times bigger in the “luxury settlements” than in the most split off regions.
By seeing the serious differences in income, it’s no surprise that the unemployment rate is much lower in the richer regions. The living standard of a region is directly proportional to the rate of employees living there, so the more people work, the higher the relative well-being.
This signifies an under 3% unemployment rate in the wealthiest small regions, while this rate is far higher than 10% in the poorest regions. In fact, there is a small region where the unemployment rate is more than 16%. But now, let’s see the 10 richest regions and how much families earn there (all cities should be considered as small regions).
