Addressing people in Sepsiszentgyörgy, Majka said that at 11 PM on Tuesday evening he received a death threat on his private phone number.
Majka pulls out: ‘They apparently know everything about us’
“The sender of the text says they can’t wait for us to get to Transylvania, and that they intend to take revenge on me for the grievance they say they suffered. They also say they know where we are staying, which security company is working at the event, and what route we will take with the band. And, of course, that I am a traitor,” Majka wrote in a Facebook post.
Lawyer says threat must be taken seriously
He added that although he was used to abuse and to people occasionally being irritated by what he says, being harassed in the middle of the night on his private number was another matter entirely.
His lawyer advised him to take the threat seriously, he said, adding that they will file a police report and try to discover who was behind the apparent attempt to cause trouble.
He said they could not go ahead with the concert, the trip, or the two days they had planned to spend there until the matter was clarified. If the situation is resolved, they will make it up to the audience.
According to the SIC Feszt schedule, Majka had been due to appear on the main stage at 10 PM on Wednesday.

First such cancellation ever
SIC Feszt said it regretted the cancellation but understood the decision. It also stressed that the festival would go ahead. Among commenters, however, several said they wanted their ticket money back. Others voiced criticism, saying an anti-Orbán performer had no place in Transylvania.
This is the first time a Hungarian pop music act has cancelled a concert because of a death threat.

An anti-Orban commentator has no place in Transylvania? Because Grandad represent the soul of Hungary and supporting anyone else is tantamount to treason? Diabolical. 53% on election day and over 70% today would fundamentally disagree.
The Transylvanians will soon change their tune when they see the money taps remain on with the new government and their 400k plus votes will land on Tisza at the next election. They’re easily bought with a folk festival or a village hall, as Grandad knows.
Majka’s song Csurran, Cseppen was released January 17th, 2025 before there was certainty that Tisza had majority support. The song was musically well done as far as rap goes. Politically, it grabbed people who had misgivings about the Fidesz government and reports of corruption. It made fun of those politicians and helped to unify opinion among the younger crowd in a very critical way against Orban’s regime. Majka had courage releasing it when he did because he knew that if Fidesz won the election they would make life very difficult for him as they did with many artists shutting them out of venues if they were not publicly pro-Fidesz. We can now ask the artists who were the sell-outs to Fidesz why we should care for them.
Dude, just screech out your stupid little songs and steer clear of politics. How hard is that?!?!?
