Metro Line M3 to be reconstructed
According to Világgazdaság, Metro Line M3 will soon be renewed, including the tracks and the subway cars as well, writes hvg.hu. The paper was informed by the Ministry of National Development that the government decree which provides 125 billion HUF to the reconstruction of Metro Line M3 in the Integrated Transport OP’s program of 2015, is about to be announced.
The maximum amount of money that can be provided for the beneficiary to reconstruct the metro line is 125 billion HUF, and 15% of it is co-financed by the government. The actual cost of the project is cannot be estimated at the moment; the final cost of the investment can only be calculated after the construction and procurement procedures have successfully ended.
The total cost is influenced by the recoverable amount (the actual income that the Budapest Transport Privately Held Corporation (BKV Zrt.) will receive from the actuation) for which EU funds cannot be provided – says the Ministry of National Development.
The reconstruction will be carried out in three segments and two parts. In the first part, the North and South lines will be rebuilt, and in the second part, the line between Lehel Square and Nagyvárad Square will be reconstructed.
