Migrants attack Hungarian guards with improvised weapons, slingshots – VIDEO

According to several reports from the Hungarian police, the migration wave that originally hit Hungary in 2015, still proves to be an ongoing issue, although in less intensity.

Illegal migrants are trying to cross the fence while avoiding the border guards. Sometimes they even ask human traffickers to bring them through the border, or lately, they have been directly provoking guards and attempting to hurt them with improvised weapons.

Previously, we have talked about an armed migrant hunter unit. The unit is looking for traces of illegal activity committed by migrants at night in the woods. They also utilise municipal surveillance camera systems as further assistance.

The main goal of the unit is to prevent illegal migrants from damaging nearby properties or forests within the border area.

You can read about the unit more in detail HERE.

Just about a month ago, the surveillance cameras of the border fence have recorded several smaller groups of illegal migrants purposefully throwing twigs at the border guards at the Serbian-Hungarian border, sometimes even using ladders to try to climb over the fence or just simply damage it.

Just a few days ago, the Hungarian police of the Csongrád-Csanád county headquarters have published a seven-minute video from the viewpoint of the border guards.

Based on the video, also shared by Infostart, it is evident that the people want to illegally cross the border fence. One of the men is trying to use a ladder to bypass the fence.

When the officers arrive at the place of the attempted breach and try to neutralise the migrants with gas and pepper spray, one man uses his ladder as a weapon trying to hit the guards, while the other migrants continuously barrage the guards with branches, logs and even stones.

At the end of the video, the border guards show the object thrown at them, and within the items, there are even glass balls possibly shot from a slingshot.

However, Hirado.hu has found another video where the cameras show the attackers with some sort of pistol trying to threaten the officer at the other side of the fence.

Towards the end of the video, two other men are seen carrying an air rifle and showing evidence of even more glass balls that could be used as projectiles from a slingshot.
