Ministry warns tourists of curfew in Tunisia
Budapest, January 29 (MTI) – The foreign ministry’s consular service on Friday warned Hungarian citizens planning to travel to Tunisia to observe the curfew imposed by local authorities.
The ministry’s consular service noted on its website that on January 22 Tunisia’s interior ministry imposed a nationwide overnight curfew from 10pm to 5am (previously 8pm to 5am) after protests and violence against high unemployment in the country.
The curfew has been imposed to prevent tension from escalating.
Hungary’s foreign ministry has also advised its citizens in Tunisia to exercise caution on the streets and avoid spaces of mass gatherings.
