After twenty-seven years on the throne, Mohammed VI, King of Morocco believes that the country is currently at a pivotal stage in its development. He calls for a focus on trust and optimism in the face of rhetoric that could fuel despair and frustration.
In his address to the nation, King Mohammed V reviewed the Kingdom’s socio-economic and political achievements and its prospects for development, MAP said.
On the economic level, King Mohammed VI highlighted his Kingdom’s performance, with growth projected at around 4.9% in 2025 and a favorable outlook for 2026. He also praised the positive impact of a bountiful agricultural season, which has strengthened the Kingdom’s water and food security.
In the industrial sector, the Moroccan monarch particularly highlighted the growth of Moroccan industry, which has become a driving force behind economic transformation. Morocco has now established itself as Africa’s leading automotive exporter, with an annual production capacity of approximately one million vehicles.
The Moroccan monarch emphasized that the automotive, aerospace, renewable energy, and agri-food sectors now represent the main pillars of the national productive fabric, highlighting, at the same time, the launch of new industrial megaprojects in aircraft engines, landing systems, electric batteries, and green hydrogen, designed to strengthen the Kingdom’s industrial sovereignty.
He also emphasized the consolidation of strategic self-sufficiency, particularly in the pharmaceutical and agri-food sectors, as well as the development of a national defense and cybersecurity industry.
He likewise noted that tourism had a record year in 2025 with nearly 20 million visitors, confirming Morocco’s growing appeal in this area.
On the social front, the Moroccan monarch reaffirmed his commitment to expanding social protection, reducing regional disparities, and improving citizens’ living conditions, while also calling on the financial sector to further mobilize domestic savings and support investments, innovation, and exports in order to support the Kingdom’s new phase of development.

Referring to foreign policy, the King emphasized that Morocco is now establishing itself as a credible and highly sought-after partner, while focusing on the diversification of its partnerships and balanced cooperation.
King Mohammed VI also emphasized political and institutional stability, which he considers Morocco’s greatest asset in an international environment marked by crises and geopolitical tensions. This stability, he affirmed, forms the foundation for economic growth, the effective functioning of institutions, and the Kingdom’s ability to meet challenges, whether they involve organizing major international events or managing natural disasters.
