Moscow’s Bolshoi Theatre will host an operetta gala to honour renowned Hungarian composer Imre Kálmán for the first time in its history on Sunday, organisers said on Friday.
The gala, opening the season of the theatre, will feature Hungarian soprano Andrea Rost and tenor Gergely Boncsér together with Russian counterpart Elena Guseva and Aleksei Nekliudov as well as Russian-born baritone Anatoly Fokanov and Austrian tenor Andreas Schager, they said at a press conference.
A special guest performing at the event will be Hungarian violinist Kristóf Baráti.
Prior to the gala evening, Hungary’s Human Resources Minister Miklós Kasler and Russia’s Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinskiy will sign a pact on cultural cooperation over the next two years, Norbert Konkoly, Hungary’s ambassador, said.
