When the successor of the one of the oldest models of the middle category arrives, Opel keeps updating the current generation, origo.hu said.
After its release in 2008, Insignia, the mid-range model of Opel, went through a comprehensive update, and now they’re trying to make the aging model more attractive with new engines.
The old 2-liter diesel engine will be replaced; the 1.6-diesel produced in Szentgotthard will take its place. The basic version will have 120 horsepower and accelerates the not lightweight model to 100km/h in 11.9 seconds. The same engine will be available with 136 horsepower too, the 16 hp-plus means a one-second faster acceleration. Both versions’ average fuel consumption is less than 4 liters.
In addition to the engines, the entertainment system will also be updated, the new Navi 900 IntelliniLink multimedia system will have Apple CarPlay support too, so the menu of iPhone can also appear on the screen.
