3,337 Ukrainian refugees arrive in Budapest on Monday
Altogether 3,337 people fleeing the war in Ukraine, including 1,018 children, arrived in Budapest by train on Monday, according to police.hu.
Most travelled on to stay with relatives, while the authorities and charities arranged for the accommodation and transport of 73 people, including 36 children.
Police officers are on duty at Budapest’s Keleti and Nyugati railway stations to help people fleeing from Ukraine.
They are working in cooperation with the disaster management authority, the immigration office, the national railway MÁV, Budapest’s public transport company, and charity organisations, police.hu said.
