Hungary to donate 20 ventilators, 20,000 masks to Lebanon
Hungary will donate 20 ventilators and 20,000 masks to Lebanon to help the country’s efforts against the coronavirus pandemic, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Monday before setting off for a Lebanon visit.
Szijjártó said in a Facebook video that the fight against the epidemic had resulted in great difficulties for many countries, especially those that were already suffering from various problems.
Lebanon has been one such country in the Middle East, he said.
Szijjártó noted that Beirut suffered from a huge explosion last summer and the country has been marred by political and government instability, coupled with extreme financial difficulties, ever since.
“We are travelling there to help today,” he said, adding that in addition to taking 20 ventilators and 20,000 masks to Lebanon, he is scheduled to meet leaders of Christian communities.
