Opening Ceremony of Multifunctional Sports Arena in Gyor
Budapest (MTI) – A multifunctional sports hall dubbed Audi Arena was opened in Gyor in north-west Hungary on Saturday.
Prime Minister Viktor Orban said at the event that despite Hungary’s multiple successes at the Olympics, Hungarians are among the four least sporty nations in the European Union. The objective is to “make a nation of sport fans into a nation that successfully does sports,” he added.
The government supported the investment project with 5 billion forints (EUR 16.3m), and the new arena will host the women’s handball European championships in December.
