PM Orbán visits Shenzhen
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Thursday travelled from Beijing to Shenzhen, where he held talks with Meng Fanli, the city’s party secretary, and visited an exhibition on developments in Guangdong Province over the past four decades, the PM’s press chief said.
Meng told the Hungarian delegation about Shenzhen’s history and informed them of opportunities for economic and business cooperation.
Shenzhen is a Special Economic Zone in China with a population of 17 million, making it one of the country’s five most populous cities. It is a global hub for technology, research, manufacturing, finance, tourism and freight transport, and is home to the world’s fourth busiest container port.
Orbán is scheduled to hold more talks in the area with Chinese corporate executives on Thursday before visiting the Nanshan Cultural Center designed by the Hungarian architectural firm Zoboki-Demeter.
At the BYD car factory, Orbán was informed about the company’s structure and its operations in Hungary — the bus factory in Komárom and the battery assembly plant in Fót — and was shown BYD’s latest electric car models.
