President Ader appoints new central bank deputy governor

Budapest (MTI) – President János Áder has appointed Marton Nagy deputy governor of the National Bank of Hungary (NBH) with effect of September 1, the latest issue of the official gazette Magyar Kozlony said.

His predecessor, Adam Balog, has become chairman-CEO of state-owned MKB Bank.

At present Nagy is the central bank’s managing director.

His appointment has been initiated by Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Parliament’s economic committee supported Nagy’s appointment with nine votes in favour and five abstentions in July.
