Public transport in Budapest to be more comfortable
Good news for those frequenting the public transport services of the Hungarian capital! The Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) has announced that articulated buses with a larger capacity will be introduced on several routes in the capital in peak hours due to increased passenger traffic to make public transport more comfortable.

Based on customer feedback, articulated buses will also operate on line 122E during peak periods. This will increase the number of seats available between Újpest-városkapu metro station and Káposztásmegyer by about a quarter. During off-peak periods, rigid buses will continue to operate on the 122E line.
In the summer period, from the night of 3 to 4 May until September, “in order to adapt to the increased passenger attraction of the entertainment venues near Közvágóhíd”, articulated buses will also run on lines no. 901 and 918 on Friday and Saturday nights, thus providing one and a half times the capacity of the routes, BKK said.
Bus no. 226 will be running again on weekends, connecting Nyugati railway station, Margaret Island and Óbuda Island from May to mid-October. What is more, bus no. 226 has a new stop: it will now also stop at the Musical Fountain (Zenélőkút) on the way to Nyugati railway station!
On routes no. 914, 914A, 950 and 950A to Újpest between Népliget M and Nagyvárad tér M, buses will also stop at the newly created Albert Flórián út stop at the beginning of Albert Flórián Road starting from the night between 3 and 4 May.
