The Indian community in Budapest is preparing to welcome the Holy Padukas of Shree Vitthal-Rukmini as part of Global Vari 2026, a devotional journey celebrating faith, culture, and unity.
In Maharashtra, the Pandharpur Wari is more than just a pilgrimage. It is a journey of faith, devotion, unity, and timeless tradition. Every year, lakhs of devotees walk together towards Pandharpur, chanting the name of Lord Vitthal and carrying forward a spiritual legacy that has continued for centuries.
Through Global Vari 2026, this sacred spirit of devotion is now travelling beyond India, connecting communities across countries and bringing the divine tradition of Vitthal bhakti to Budapest.
This sacred journey started on 6 June 2026 in the United Kingdom and will travel through the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic, before reaching Budapest on 21 June 2026. From Hungary, the journey will continue onward towards India and Pandharpur, one of the most important pilgrimage destinations for devotees of Lord Vitthal.

The Budapest event will be held on 21 June 2026 at 4:00 PM at Heroes’ Square, followed by a peaceful Palakhi Padayatra towards City Park / Városliget. The program will include Paduka Darshan, bhajan, prayer, Lezim, devotional singing, and cultural participation by children in traditional Indian attire. The event aims to bring together families, devotees, and members of the wider community in a peaceful cultural and spiritual gathering.
On behalf of the Indian community in Budapest, Vinod Dhaygude said:
“This is the first time we will experience the divine vibes of Vitthal Vari in Budapest. The entire Indian community is excited to welcome the Holy Padukas of Lord Vitthal. We are proud to be part of this Global Vari. The main motto of Vari is to bring people together and spread our culture, devotion, and spiritual values among all.”

All devotees and well-wishers are warmly invited to join with their families and receive the blessings of Shree Vitthal-Rukmini.
