Shanghai Airlines suspends Shanghai-Budapest direct service
Shanghai Airlines has suspended its Shanghai-Budapest direct flight, the company that runs Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport said on Monday.
The suspension affects flights operated with a Boeing 787 aircraft between Feb. 10 and March 31,
Budapest Airport said in a statement.
The airline last week suspended two indirect services between Shanghai and Budapest, one with a stopover in Xi’an and the other in Chengdu until late March, details HERE.
Another airline, Hainan, said on Saturday that it has suspended its Chongqing-Budapest direct service until March 28.
The only airline that still operates services between Hungary and China is Air China,
with three flights a week between Beijing and Budapest and a stopover in Minsk.
Budapest Airport said it is coordinating with Chinese airlines operating direct flights between the two countries and European airlines with transfer options to destinations in China with a view to ensuring safe services.
Passengers with a ticket are advised to contact the airline about the option of re-booking or receiving a refund.
