Budapest (MTI) – Tension caused by provocations in Slovakia’s election would be detrimental to both bilateral ties and Slovakia’s ethnic Hungarian minority, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto and Jozsef Berenyi, the head of the Party of the Hungarian Community (MKP) in Slovakia, said on Monday.
Szijjarto met Berenyi in the foreign ministry to discuss MKP’s preparations for the election as well as the minority’s situation, the ministry told MTI. The two stressed the need for the ethnic Hungarian minority to have strong representation in the Slovak parliament after the elections.
