FM Szijjártó: Trump helped avert nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan

A very serious conflict situation between India and Pakistan has been managed thanks to mediation by US President Donald Trump, Peter Szijjarto, Hungary’s foreign minister, said on Saturday, adding that an escalation of a war between the two nuclear powers would have posed a serious threat to the entire world.

After successful mediation by Trump and the US government, India and Pakistan have agreed to a full ceasefire, Szijjártó said on Facebook. “We hope that President Trump will be just as successful when it comes to the war in Ukraine,” the minister said.

“We Hungarians have been persistently and consistently representing our pro-peace stance for three years,” Szijjártó said. “We have been arguing in favour of a ceasefire and peace talks for three years.” “We are glad that the western Europeans who were attacking, criticising and chiding us earlier are now doing the same,” he added.
