The 4 best places in Hungary for taking Insta-worthy pictures – Photos

If you want to take a cool photo but ran out of ideas as to where, you are at the right place.

We present to you four special and very different places with the help of metropol.hu. In addition to the locations, we will also show photos and how long it takes to get there from Budapest, as well as what Instagram filters we recommend for the places.

1. Lake Bokodi

It is no exaggeration to say that Lake Bokodi is for Hungarians what the Brooklyn Bridge is for Americans. If you do not have a picture taken here, you can no longer be a full member of the Hungarian Instagram community. The Oroszlány Thermal Power Company established the artificial lake in 1961. It does not freeze in the winter, either, which is why it has become popular among anglers. Many built tiny wooden houses on the water. The travel time from Budapest is a little over an hour. Hudson, Claderon, and Lo-Fi are the best filter choices.

2.  The most beautiful panorama of the Danube Bend: Preacher’s Chair (Prédikálószék), Wild Stones (Vadálló-kövek)

If the weather is clear, a dazzling panorama can unfold in front of us, but the foggy weather also suits this place very well. The veil of fog on the strangely shaped stones is astonishing. The travel time here is also an hour from Budapest. As for the Instagram filters, Hudson is a surefire choice.

3. Boldogkőváralja

The name speaks for itself. Boldogkőváralja means ‘happy stone castle bottom’. If we are going on a slightly longer tour of the capital, it is worth going to see Boldogkőváralja; this is the “great wall” of Hungarians. Travel time from Budapest is about 2 hours 40 minutes. The best Instagram filters for pictures are Lark, Rise, and X-Pro II.

4. Kis-hegy, Balatonlelle

Lake Balaton is always very beautiful. This time, we recommend the southern shore, as we have a fascinating panorama of Kis-hegy in Balatonlelle. The special feature of the small chapel on the hill is that mass is held only once a year. Travel time from Budapest is one and a half hours. As for the Instagram filters, Lark and Rise fit the best.
