The Hungarian healthcare system is on the edge of collapse?

Hungarian hospitals are under immense pressure because they have to treat more than eight thousand COVID-19 patients. Some institutions already have to rank their patients because not everybody can receive professional intensive care.

According to 444.hu, Tamás Svéd, an intensive therapist and the secretary of the Hungarian Medical Chamber, said that the Hungarian healthcare system is reaching the end of its capacity these days. Even though there are many beds and ventilators, there is not enough personnel to utilise them and help patients. Mr Svéd said that in the third wave, he works in the COVID-19 intensive care department and would like to go home at the end of the day with a healthy spirit, but that is becoming harder every day.

The intensive therapist added that, based on his information and experience, most hospitals maintained the 3 patient per nurse framework. However, there are institutions where this number already reached 6-8. That does not mean that he or she does not receive any help, but professionally, they can only provide

the needed care for the patients between life and death.

The higher this number is, the higher the chance of making mistakes becomes.

Mr Svéd said that the third wave affects younger people as well; many patients are in their 30s and 40s in the hospitals. Meanwhile, the number of older people is lower in the intensive care because many of them already received the vaccine or already got the infection before.

However, the third cause is that younger people need beds.

He does not have official data about that sad process but believes that it will become more and more frequent. That is a soft ranking system, the “hard” type would be if the government acknowledges that the number of infections exceeds the capacity of the hospitals. The intensive therapist said that the number of intensive beds can be increased only to a point because, in this branch of medical care, there is no such thing as partial attention since a ventilator could even harm a patient. Therefore, they require 24/7 attention.

Mr Svéd said that the government and those managing the healthcare system have to decide how they increase the intensive care capacity. However,

there is no concord even between them.

Professor Merkely says that the limit is 1,000 beds while officials in the government info say that they can extend the capacities up to 3,000.

The government says that everybody who needs it will receive a ventilator, but they do not add whether the patients will have a professional crew to provide care for them. Furthermore, the country’s leadership does not publish relevant data about the number of available beds or the number of patients needing intensive care.

About the new healthcare contract all employees in the branch had to sign, he said that they miss everybody who refused to do so. Based on the data,

5,500 doctors and nurses left the Hungarian healthcare system

which struggled hard from the lack of workforce even before.

Daily new case numbers and deaths, continuing worsening up-ward trend, media reports covering numerous topics of varied Citizen/Society subjects and categories, areas that all read catastrophic and worsening times are ahead of us in Hungary.
Are we as a Country self imploding – collapsing from with-in ?
Does the Government invite ALL Political Parties to join them around the table, in a show of UNITY – putting Hungary first above all other Political agendas ?
Internationally through media, the raging situation of this coronavirus is growing in focus on Hungary.
Hungary is being singled out going outside approved European Union vaccines by the use of unapproved Russian and Chinese claimed vaccine conglomerations.
We are at the brink of a cataclysmic period of time in the History of Hungary.
Who and How do we call for help and assistance ?
Bridges relationships have been tarnished damaged which puts us somewhat in a position that we stand alone in this time of ongoing human tragedy in Hungary.
Hungary are we in a position that could be termed abandonment through the lack of relationships caused by our Political ideas and philosophies that have up-set put off side countries that could assist us at this disastrous time in our History ?
Candour – nothing else must come from the mouths of those responsible for endeavouring to Rescue us.
We are on the brink, as a country, standing on the edge of an un-safe erosive soil cliff, that likely will collapse under the humongous weight of problems Hungary – carries on its broad shoulders at this time.
If we permit this collapse as a country, into what could be an abyss, the future of our country Hungary is perilous.
United – “bury” the Politics and think ALL what we must do to survive going forward that maintains a population of 9.6 million Hungarian Human beings and that we have a Future.

Maybe someone in always loathed and despised “Brussels” can help?

Population of Hungary taken as 9.6 million, statistically is made up of 42% per cent those of The Roman Catholic Faith.
Cardinal Peter Erdo – Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest – time that he came out – took a firm line of position and opinion and played Church – Humanitarian based against Politics.
People in positions like Cardinal Erdo can’t be left unaccountable, being seen publicly taking a position making recommendations admitting we are on a dangerous course in our countries History, which needs to be re-evaluated and a directional change immediately implemented.
The power of prayer – yes I believe – but what is occurring, being witnessed in Hungary at present does go far beyond prayer usage for divine intervention.
Cardinal Peter Erdo is a great lover admirer of Saint Pope John Paul 11.
Practice and follow I say to Cardinal Erdo – the ways Saint Pope John Paul 11.
Saint Pope John Paul 11 – would not have been SILENT – he would have played Church against Politics – rather than your chosen position, passive and Roman Catholic Church traditional position, in this perilous time Hungary is placed.
“Be not Afraid” – you know the Biblical interpretation background and meaning and it’s placement and usage in the Holy Roman Catholic Faith.
It is 43 years past – less than a week into his Pontificate that Pope John Paul 11 proclaimed possible the most famous and lasting words of his glorious Pontificate – “Be not Afraid “.
Respectfully – I ask please – hear my sermon to you and represent us – speak out for us doing the will of your God and all and Lead – as did your “favoured” Pontiff – Saint Pope John Paul 11 – a blessed leader amongst men.

Even with a full staff retinue, the survival rate of people put on ventilators is at best, 50%. With a poor staff to patient ratio, I suspect that the mortality rate of ventilated patients is significantly higher.
