This year’s list of the wealthiest Hungarians is once again topped by entrepreneur Lőrinc Mészáros, followed by Sándor Csányi, chairman of OTP Bank, while Zsolt Felcsuti, who has interests in the machinery manufacturing sector, retains third place, according to a statement published on the ranking’s official website.
The wealthiest Hungarians revealed
Mészáros maintained his lead with an estimated fortune of HUF 1,604 billion, up from HUF 1,422 billion last year. However, his wealth growth of 13% this year falls well short of the near 50% surge recorded previously, the Hungarian news agency wrote.
Lőrinc Mészáros was a small business owner before Orbán came to power in 2010. Afterwards, he won an increasing number of public procurement contracts, which quickly made him the wealthiest man in Hungary.

Csányi’s estimated wealth rose over the past year from HUF 820 billion in 2025 to 935 billion, while Felcsuti’s fortune increased from HUF 526 billion to 594 billion.
Tibor Veres, founder of the Wallis Group, remains in fourth place with an estimated HUF 492 billion, up from HUF 480 billion last year. Fifth place is again held by György Gattyán, known for his interests in the adult entertainment industry, with a fortune of HUF 432 billion, down from 441 billion.

There has been no change in the rankings of László Szíjj (Duna Aszfalt, HUF 418 billion), Dániel Jellinek (Indotek Group, 355 billion), Gellért Jászai (4iG, 333 billion) and Gábor Széles (Videoton, 317 billion).
Orbán’s son-in-law also among the wealthiest Hungarians
István Tiborcz, the former prime minister’s son-in-law, who is currently living in New York with his family, has become the 11th richest Hungarian. Last year, he also failed to break into the top five, although Válasz Online reported that his wealth may in fact be considerably higher, as much of it is held in opaque private equity funds.

According to the statement, the magazine features four new entrants this year, compared with two in 2025. Among them are Dávid Mészáros, founder of ingatlan.com, who debuts in 57th place with a fortune of HUF 56.1 billion, and László Wolf, a senior executive at OTP, who enters at 92nd with 28.6 billion.
The wealth figures in the list of Hungary’s 100 richest are estimates compiled by the publication’s editors on the basis of publicly available information and their own data collection.
