VIDEO: a foreigner is injured in a car crash in downtown Budapest
A car crashed into a tram stop on Népszínház Street in Budapest on Saturday evening.
The car was heading towards Blaha Lujza Square when it suddenly slid into the lane of oncoming traffic and then crashed into the tram stop. The driver waited for the police at the scene after the accident. According to RTL News, he denied any fault. He claimed that the tram track or the bad road surface had thrown the wheels of his car and he could no longer correct it, which is why he crashed into the tram stop.
The car also knocked down four smaller poles – one of which hit a pedestrian walking past.
The scene was filmed by a resident opposite.
One of the ejected poles hit a 23-year-old Indonesian man, who suffered minor injuries to his leg. He was taken to hospital after the incident.
