Video: couple burned to death in their car after a collision with a tanker

A couple from Tardona, Hungary burned to death on Saturday on the 306 main road near Miskolc after their car collided with a tanker carrying liquid nitrogen. Footage from RTL News shows that almost nothing was left of the car, with only the rims and boot door remaining in a recognisable condition.

According to the police, for reasons unclear, the car moved into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the lorry. In the accident, the driver of the latter tried to avoid the collision as best he could, pulling over to the side of the road, but the collision was unavoidable. The tanker ended up in the ditch, the front end damaged. The driver also suffered minor injuries.

The vehicle caught fire after the collision and the two occupants were burned. According to RTL, the two victims were two members of a couple in their thirties from Tardona who were driving towards Miskolc on the bypass. According to the channel, they also had two children, but they were not travelling with them on Saturday afternoon.
