VIDEO: President Zelensky booed at Rod Stewart’s Budapest concert

Rod Stewart projected the photos of Ukrainian soldiers, destroyed Ukrainian towns and cities, and President Zelensky during one of his greatest hit songs in his Budapest concert in the MVM Dome. He probably did not expect this reaction from the audience.

Boo came after Zelensky appeared

But it seems nobody prepared him for what he could have expected from the Hungarian audience after projecting President Zelensky behind him during one of his songs.

According to Telex, he offered one of his hit songs, Rhythm Of My Heart (1991), to Ukraine and Zelensky. He was dressed in Ukrainian national colours (blue and yellow) and projected photos of Zelensky, Ukrainian cities and soldiers. When Zelensky appeared, the Hungarian audience began to boo. According to the reporter of the Hungarian media outlet, they calmed down immediately, and his next song was welcomed with an ovation.

That was not the first time Rod Stewart showed support for the Ukrainian president. He did the same in Leipzig’s Quarterback Immobilien Arena on 14 June and received the same response from the fans. Even so, he said after the incident that he supports Zelensky and the Ukrainian people.Putin must be stopped!“, he added. In a Sky News interview, Steward called Putin an a**hole.
