Warning issued in Hungary: Stormy gusts of wind, thunderstorms, cold front and temperatures below 0 °C

Stormy gusts of wind, showers, thunderstorms, and a new cold front are expected, while temperatures have already dropped below freezing point in some areas of Hungary. Authorities announced a national emergency: here is our weather forecast for the next week.

Stormy gusts of wind, thunderstorms

According to Hungaromet, the weather service, Hungary’s weather is shaped by a vortex north of our country. Its flow system brings the cloud bands, showers and thunderstorms above us and causes almost record-breakingly low temperatures in many areas of Hungary. Based on Hungaromet, unpredictable weather will rule Hungary in the following days, but the temperature will rise until Wednesday. Then another cold spell will reach the Carpathian Basin and bring unusual cold in the final weeks of spring.

Tonight, temperature will fall to 3-10 degrees, and it will not exceed 15-21 degrees tomorrow. Meanwhile, Northwestern winds will become stormy in many areas, so authorities announced a national emergency. The winds will bring showers and thunderstorms, and the precipitation will only decrease on Tuesday. From Wednesday, the temperature will again fall due to another cold spell reaching Hungary.
