Where do I have to still wear a face mask in Hungary from today?
As we reported before, the number of people inoculated against the coronavirus reached 5.5 million yesterday in Hungary, which allowedthe further easing of restrictions. Based on the statistics, no one with Covid-19 has died on Thursday and only 76 of those suffering from Covid-19 were hospitalised without respiratory assistance, and 22 were on ventilators yesterday morning.
Therefore all restrictions on shops were lifted and masks are no longer mandatory indoors or outdoors. Furthermore, mask-wearing on public transport are also no longer mandatory, though the rule
remains in force in social care settings and hospitals.
Shops, hotels, leisure facilities and cultural events can be entered with a pre-booked seat without an immunity certificate. One hundred people are allowed to attend private events, up from 50, and the limit for weddings will go up from 200 to 400 people.
However,
restrictions will still apply in the case of sporting, music and dance events,
as well as concerts held indoors. PM Viktor Orbán said on concerns about the worldwide spread of the delta variant that Hungary was fully prepared for a possible fourth wave of the epidemic.
On the subject of the possibility of third booster shots, PM Orbán said yesterday that experts would assess whether a third vaccine could be administered, and he appealed to the public for patience.

Factually – it is clear to ALL – by the DATA – that is provided to the public – transparent – arising out of Medical Science Institutions – associated in the fight and challenges to Citizens of Hungary and Globally – that we have Survived this – 3rd Wave – of this novel coronavirus.
Credit – should Rightfully be extended and expressed to the present Government of Hungary – for it’s role – in these Statistical Medical Science figures – that CLEARLY – reflect and indicate – the 3rd Wave – has been – Silenced.
The relaxing – effective from – 3rd June 2021 in Hungary – centering on the wearing of masks – does not meet totally with my personal agreement.
Personally – being a daily user of our excellent public transport system – residing in the “inner” City of Budapest – I will still – for time, wear my Mask.
It is wonderful – filled with JOY – that our ability to get out there and “smell those roses” – returning slowly gradually to normality in our lives and lets – ALL – do it.
Not sure. I think it would have been better to wait a couple of weeks. The vaccine needs to have time to work on the immune system. However, I think it will come down to choice, maybe still on public transport as people are pretty close together. Plus we don’t know the effect yet of having so many people to watch the football. I think it would be a good idea if hand sanitizers stayed in the shops though. Hands carry so many germs. It’s strange what we’ve gotten used to.
I will still require my wife to wear a mask. I like it that way ….and NO ONE will make me change.
