Ukraine’s President Zelenskiy sent Lyubov Nepop, Ukraine’s ambassador in Budapest, in a yesterday published decree. Mrs Nepop told the Hungarian government in March in tears that they would only have ‘strategic calmness’ in the grave, referring to Hungary’s moderate position towards the war in Ukraine and Orbán’s announcement that Budapest would not deliver weapons.

According to szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu, Nepop is not the only ambassador who has been dismissed. Apart from her, there are Indian ambassador Igor Polekha, Norwegian representative Vyacheslav Yatsiuk, and Czech ambassador Evgenia Perebinosa. The decrees do not contain an explanation, and there is no news on whether the diplomats will receive new tasks.

Zelensky is losing 20% of Ukraine. He has to show he is in charge.
