Summer season kicks off: Balaton beach entrance ticket prices rise significantly

Entrance ticket prices for Balaton beaches have increased more than the annual inflation rate. According to a Hungarian media outlet, this may be how the local government operators aim to bridge financial shortfalls. The average adult ticket now costs 13% more, while children’s tickets have risen by 16% compared to 2024.
Balaton beach entrance ticket prices go through the roof
According to balatontipp.hu, some beaches opened as early as the end of May, but most ticket offices began operating in June. The average Balaton beach entrance fee for adults has increased from HUF 1,488 to HUF 1,679 (EUR 4.2), while children’s tickets have gone from HUF 867 to HUF 1,007 (EUR 2.5). The most significant price hike occurred in Fonyód, with an increase of 47%. However, this is partly due to the fact that prices had not been raised there for some time. Despite the sharp rise, the entrance fee in Fonyód remains below the Balaton average of HUF 1,400.
Balatonszárszó and Balatonfűzfő are tied for second place with a 31% increase, now charging HUF 1,700 for adults. Vonyarcvashegy ranks third with a 27% rise, bringing adult ticket prices to HUF 1,900.

In contrast, adult Balaton beach ticket prices have not changed in Földvár, Badacsony, Keszthely City Beach, Siófok’s Great Beach, Sóstó, and Szigliget.
