Bomb threat in a Budapest downtown event
Budapest police caught a man who, according to the suspicion, threatened to place bombs in a Budapest downtown event on the internet. Thankfully, officers did not find explosives after searching the event’s venue, which was not named.
The threat came at 6.52 PM yesterday to the Budapest police department. The person reporting it said he read the man’s comment on a social media platform. The perpetrator commented under the event that “there would be pipe bombs under some chairs”, police.hu wrote.
The officers of the 5th district department immediately went to the venue of the event and searched it with specially-trained dogs. However, they did not find anything.
They managed to identify the man posting the threat and caught him in his apartment in his 13th district today early morning. Police interrogated the 29-year-old Richárd K. on suspicion of public threatening. The suspect did not confess.
