Europe’s first wine cinema opens in Hungary

Lake Balaton wine

A vineyard on the south shore of Lake Balaton is offering a unique cinema experience for film and wine enthusiasts, szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu writes. The Kristinus Wine Estate in Kéthely has opened the first wine cinema in Europe.

The programme promises quality films and wine tasting for a reasonable price. Award winning wines are offered by the glass or by the bottle, and guests can choose from two kinds of grissini and dips to accompany the drinks. Screenings start at 6 pm, and according to the Kristinus Wine Estate website, both dubbed and subtitled films are being shown.

The estate offers other forms of entertainment as well, such as delicious dishes at the Kristinus Gastro Bistrot and spectacular concerts and performances in the open-air concert hall. Since the beginning of the year, the 10-room Kristinus Vinotel also awaits guests wishing to stay on the estate for longer.

The wine estate has been making award-winning wines since 2005.
