Foreign Minister: Schulz ‘should preoccupy himself with his own party’ instead of chiding Orbán
Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Thursday that Martin Schulz, the Social Democrat candidate to become Germany’s chancellor, should rather preoccupy himself with the matters of his own party than condemning Hungary and its premier, Viktor Orbán.
In a statement, the minister referred to an interview to the German press in which Schulz criticised Poland and Hungary for their stances on migration.
Szijjártó said it was nothing new that Schulz “curses” the two countries, but he would do better to focus on politics at home, given the serious election losses the German SPD party has suffered in the recent past.
