Police in Budapest detained several foreign and Hungarian nationals on Friday ahead of the weekend’s Champions League final, the Budapest Metropolitan Police Headquarters said on its website.

British and Portuguese fought with each other
According to the statement, at around 4pm on Friday, two Portuguese men and a British man became involved in a fight at one of the entrances to the Champions Festival. Officers intervened, separated the individuals and took them into custody; proceedings for disorderly conduct have been initiated.

At approximately 10pm in City Park, police escorted an intoxicated Hungarian woman to paramedics on the scene. During the recording of her details, it emerged that she was subject to an outstanding minor offences warrant; she was subsequently taken to hospital.
Half an hour later, another Hungarian woman wanted for a minor offence was detained in Liszt Ferenc Square in District VI.

At around 11pm on Friday, officers apprehended a British man in Wesselényi Street, District VII, after he climbed onto the roof of a parked car, causing damage to the vehicle.

Shortly after midnight, in Király Street, also in District VII, members of a group of supporters ignited and threw flares, with several individuals becoming involved in a brawl.
Proceedings for affray have been launched against unknown perpetrators. Police are analysing CCTV footage as part of the investigation, and efforts to identify those involved are ongoing. Authorities added that at around 12:30am on Saturday, in Rumbach Sebestyén Street, a taxi windscreen was struck with a bottle and cracked; an investigation has been opened against an unknown suspect.
“Within just over an hour, six aircraft have landed at Ferihegy carrying more than 1,000 Arsenal and PSG supporters,” Budapest police said on Facebook on Saturday morning.
The Champions League final is due to kick off at 6pm today at the Puskás Arena.
