Google Trends 2019 – The most-searched topics in Hungary

Google released its 2019 trends, in which everyone can see what the most-searched topics of this year were. The report includes every country using Google as a search engine, including Hungary as well.

Portfólió reported that this is the nineteenth time that Google released its annual trends. Similarly to last year’s report, in Hungary, the most-searched topic was related to politics. The first place was taken by the mayoral elections when Gergely Karácsony unexpectedly won and became the Mayor of Budapest.

The second most-searched one was the Hungarian media mogul Andy Vajna, who passed away this year in January. The third one was taken by the fire of Notre Dame, the tragedy that happened and shocked everyone in the French capital.

The French building was followed by reality show “Love Island” and child actor Cameron Boyce who suddenly passed away, at the age of twenty. These topics were followed by the “Exathlon” television show and Black Friday.

At the end of the list, the globally successful Chernobyl series, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and the European Parliament elections got featured.

Other famous topics were “After” (the movie from the bestselling novel), “Game of Thrones”, “Joker”, and the football game between Hungary and Uruguay. Festivals like Strand and VOLT also got featured, and so did smartphones, like iPhone 11, Huawei P30, and Samsung Galaxy S10.
