Guess which top hit US reality show has Hungarian cast members!

We are talking about everyone’s favourite guilty pleasure, 90 Day Fiancé which has locked viewers to the screens since 2014.  So far we have laughed and cried at the love stories of many different nationalities starring in the US reality show, however, perhaps only hardcore fans know that 3 cast members of TLC’s biggest hit are of Hungarian origins. Are you wondering who they are? Let’s spill some tea!

For 8 seasons, the top hit US reality show has followed the journey of several international couples navigating the ins and outs of courtship and romance within the stricture of a 90-day US visa while trying to overcome a myriad of relationship obstacles such as unsupportive in-laws, contradicting world views and, of course, the language barrier. At the end of the 90-day timeframe, couples either get married or call it quits. The latter was a returning theme in the storyline of Darcey Silva (47) whose eternal quest to find love was featured for 3 seasons. She was so popular among viewers that even landed her own reality TV show, along with her sister, called Darcey & Stacey. Darcey never hid anything from fans whether it was her plastic surgery obsession, intimate details of her love life or numerous younger toyboys, however, little is known about her previous marriage with Hungarian ex, Frank Bollok (47).

According to Intouchweekly, the former rapper turned bed&breakfast owner and the reality star were married for 8 years and raised two daughters Aniko and Aspen, who are regularly featured in the show. Aniko (18) is an aspiring model who won Miss Photogenic in 2021 while Aspen (17) has recently graduated from Wethersfield Public School, in Connecticut. Their proud father regularly posts pictures and quotes related to Hungary on his personal Facebook page. For instance, on March 15, a couple of years back, he uploaded a picture with the girls wearing red-white-green cockades and holding the national flag in their hands. Based on the comments and likes, Darcey Silva must have also picked up some Hungarian from her ex-hubby and the girls. Unfortunately, there is no information on the Bollok sisters’ fluency, nevertheless, they certainly get to hear lots of Hungarian at home from their dad and aunt Barbara who, by the way, even cherishes an old photograph with the late Hungarian football star, Öcsi Puskás.

Hungarian viewers were in for another surprise as season 8 rolled in. Ukrainian national, Yara Zaya (26) rose to prominence after appearing on US screens, even though it was not her first experience with reality TV. Reddit users dug up old footage from Fashion To the People and other Ukrainian reality shows, in which the young celebrity was sporting a widely different look. Since then, she has had an enormous glow-up which, some speculate, is due to beauty enhancements such as rhinoplasty and fillers. In one of the old reality shows, Yara revealed that her father was ethnically Hungarian and worked and lived in Hungary as a businessman. Even though she does not have good memories of him as he walked out of his family when Yara was just a little girl, she still keeps a small place for Hungary in her heart. On her Youtube channel, she revealed that her first date with husband Jovi Dufren (32) took place in Budapest, that is where their initial friendship blossomed into love.
