You can buy ice cream at half price on the upcoming Hungarian Ice Cream Day

Hungarian Ice Cream Day takes place on 8 May, with some 300 ice cream parlours and patisseries across the country expected to join in. At participating venues, at least four flavours will be available at half price for on-site consumption, organisers said on Thursday in a statement to MTI.
Hungarian Ice Cream Day: 150 outlets, half prize
The announcement recalls that more than 150 outlets took part last year, with organisers anticipating double that number this time. This expansion not only reflects the event’s rising popularity but also shows that ever more domestic patisseries regard it as a shared cause, the summary notes.
As they wrote, Hungarian Ice Cream Day has received official trademark protection, meaning only registered and vetted partners may use the name—a measure that bolsters quality assurance and the event’s unified branding in the long term.

List of participating patisseries continuously updated
With interest surging, organisers are placing fresh emphasis this year on supporting participating parlours: M-GEL Hungary Ltd is offering discounts on raw materials to help venues maintain their customary quality alongside the half-price offer.
They highlighted cake ice cream as one of this year’s standout trends. Increasingly, parlours are transforming classic cakes into frozen treats. In the organisers’ view, this captures punters’ desire for novelty alongside familiar flavours, they wrote.
The list of participating venues is being updated continuously, with patisseries asked to register by 2 May. The list can be check out on the event’s website along with further details.
