The opposition Democratic Coalition said on Tuesday that the government had “pushed health care in Hungary to the brink of ruin”, with nearly 60,000 people on waiting lists for operations, 18,000 for cataract surgery, and some 20,000 for hip and knee replacements.

Citing portfolio.hu as the source for the figures, DK lawmaker Zoltán Komáromi told an online press conference that the government had been steadily shrinking the sector’s funding for the past 12 years and “forcing overworked doctors and nurses to leave the profession”.

He accused the government of “downgrading health care to a sub-department of the interior ministry”,

adding that this signalled the government had no intention of tackling problems in the Hungarian healthcare system.

Thanks for the warning. I need a cataract operation and seeing the waiting list published here, will pay the 300,000 huf at the modern private hospital near to my home in Pest.

Anonymous – did the same 14 months past.
Private Clinic in Buda roughly same cost.
Another factual example – the MESS we are in – that citizens “live with” not or in fear of asking questions to this present Government.
The deepening of the VEILING of cataclysmic problems we are living with in Hungary – the longer citizens sit back, don’t in an orderly fashion – become pro-active – demanding honest and factual transparancy from this Government, the MESS – economically & financially we in Hungary “plunge” into.
Citizens who voted at the recent National Elections to the rurn of Government – the Fidesz Party led by Victor Orban – our current Prime Minister, that in re-electing this Government they individually are :
    (1) – Responsible.
    (2) – Accountable.
    (3) – Ownership.

These (3) three statements or undertaken positions – by voting for the return of Government of the Fidesz Party, led by Victor Orban – they can’t AVOID – FACT – that they can never deny – the Political Party in Hungary who at this point of time in our History are directing us into a deepening valley of the un-known other than it gets blacker the further we DECEND.
