Orbán cabinet interferes Poland’s internal politics, claims rule of law abandoned

The rule of law in Poland is being abandoned and the destruction of the government’s political opponents is happening “at full speed”, Janos Boka, EU affairs minister, said in a video on Facebook on Monday, adding that the European People’s Party was supporting the process.
Bóka said right-wing opposition Law and Justice (PiS) lawmakers briefed him in Warsaw, adding that “this scenario now being implemented in Poland is planned for Hungary”.
He insisted that the EPP had selected the country’s leader and was hobbling his political opponents through legal, political, and financial means. He added that by enacting “Brussels’ wish list” and handing over “a little sovereignty,” the leader was given “a free hand to deal with political opponents.” Bóka declared that any EU member state, not just Hungary and Poland, was susceptible to similar manoeuvres “unless there is a change in Brussels.”
