PHOTOS: Esztergom-Budapest has new auxiliary bishop
Pope Francis has accepted the resignation of Ferenc Cserháti, the auxiliary bishop of Esztergom-Budapest who has reached the age of 75, and appointed Balázs Martos Levente, rector of the Central Education Institute for Priests, to the position, the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference (MKPK) said in a statement on Friday.
Martos Levente was born on November 18, 1973 in Szombathely and began his theological studies in 1992 at the central seminary in Budapest before commencing studies in Rome in 1994. In 1998, he was ordained a priest in Szombathely. In 2002, he obtained a doctorate in theology at the Faculty of Theology of Pázmány Péter Catholic University (PPKE).
Since 2014, he has been a member of the Pontifical Biblical Commission. In September 2019, the MKPK appointed him rector of the Central Education Institute for Priests.

Traditionalist and Conservative?
Ordained – the time of his ordination Deep – into the Pontifical years of Saint Pope John Paul 11, – his age, let it be Hoped, driven by Faith & Trust, that he is NOT out of the same school as the ultra Conservative and Traditionalist – Archbishop of Esztergom / Budapest – Primate of Hungary Hungary – Cardinal Peter Erdo.
The present Cardinal – Peter Erdo – favoured Pontiffs being Saint Pope John Paul 11 & Pope Benedict XV1 – let the newly appointed auxiliary Bishop – be a “Shaker” and an “Awakener” – breath renewed -LIFE- back into the Holy Roman Catholic Church of Hungary, taking us out of that still DOMINANT, pre Vatican 11 era, that under the Cardinalship – Leadership of Peter Erdo, we WRONGFULLY remain.
The NEED of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, pursuing a PATH of adjustability to life of the 21st century, from the Holy Father, through the “Princes of the Church” which is the position in which Peter Erdo occupies, through the Bishops – that incorporates, a degree of Evangelicalism in its Philosophy & Idea – its message to – ALL the faithful, children of our Heavenly Father – his Church, which his children are the Body of the Church.
Pope Francis – is a Progressive Pontiff.
Cardinal Erdo, has he been a “Progressive” – for the Holy Catholic Roman Church of Hungary?
My answer is – NO.
Pope Francis – his “Blessed” words – that the Church is Missionary.
The process of Modernization, moving with the times, the adjustment and EMBRACEMENT of the need to move the Holy Roman Catholic Church of Hungary – forward, into the FUTURE – emphatically does not from this commentator require FOUNDATIONS of teachings – the CORE of Catholicism – ripped apart, and re-written.
It needs creative interpretation from the ORDAINED, from the Pulpits of our Churches, sending a MESSAGE, that those in the Pews, the continuous small numbers, numbers under the Cardinalship of Peter Erdo – have NOT grown, that they get a MESSAGE – that they can SLOT into – relate to – place into LIFE – the present time of the 21st century.
Enticement – what MUST be done, what MUST be FEED – from the Pulpits of the Holy Roman Catholic Church of Hungary and GLOBALLY, to interest, ask question, in possible – returning or joining through baptism, the practice of being Catholic?
“Be Not Afraid”- loved expression term – used often in MESSAGES & teachings – in the Pontification of Saint Pope John Paul 11 – but it just is NOT going to HAPPEN without MASS awakening, the acceptance & realization, we are in the 21st century, of the ORDAINED, that are – Traditionalist & Conservatives, that in number, inclusive of Cardinal Peter Erdo, from the “Princes of the Church” down, that still DOMINANT the FUNCTIONALITY – the wrongful direction and course the Universal Church, the Holy Roman Catholic Church – is being PRESENTED and pursues.
WHAT – in our Seminaries – I know mine embraces TEACHES overall our students in Rome, to times of the 21st century.
We are FAR from perfect, but we are taught by students listening to them, bringing messages to US, of Life, in the outside world, that from TEACHING them, a blend and mixture to modern day life, the WORD through the Bible is COMMUNICATED – in these challenging & difficult times we ALL live.
This – Aged & Old Institution – we through our Faith our Belief in the Risen Lord are part of – the Universal Church of the Holy Roman Catholic Church, can’t GO forward – STILL being DRIVEN maintained by Traditionalists and Conservatives likened to the Hungarian Cardinal Peter Erdo.
Cardinal Peter Erdo – a question;
Hungary, its people, in particular those from the lower socio economic base, in the millions – growing in the cataclysmic Economic & Financial position worsening in Hungary, that it appears, will see Hungary again – revert to a Government that rules under Communism, what out of your Palace in the opulence you reside, what have you on public record SAID – against the suffering – the treatment of the millions of Hungarian people, through the Political ideas & philosophy being factually practiced in Hungary, by its present Government led by its Prime Minister – Victor Orban ???
Be HEARD I say – and don’t “Be Afraid” – to speak out but LEAD.
