Queen: “Hungarian Rhapsody” wins Bronze Box Office Award
Queen’s concert film, “Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest”, won a Bronze Box Office Award in recognition of achieving over 100,000 worldwide cinema admissions at the Event Cinema Association’s inaugural awards presentation in London on middle of October.
Set up last year to promote alternative content (rebranded as Event Cinema) in Europe, the ECA now has 35 member companies from 18 territories, made up of exhibitors, distributors, content providers and technical providers.
Released in cinemas and at retail late last year, “Hungarian Rhapsody: Queen Live In Budapest” was filmed as part of the hugely successful 1986 Magic Tour that, poignantly, was the last to be played by the band with Freddie Mercury.
