An adult man has been caught looking at girls taking a shower in a kid’s summer camp in Zamárdi, by Lake Balaton.
As index.hu reported, the police have detained a man for looking at and taking videos of young girls in a summer camp. The man allegedly took photos and videos of the girls while they were changing and taking a shower. One girl retold the events:
“I was taking a shower and looked up for a second when I noticed the dark figure of an adult man, who was taking videos of me and the little girl next to me.”
The girl, working at the famous summer festival Balaton Sound, told her colleagues immediately. One other girl noticed the same figure a few hours ago, after which they contacted the police.
Next day, police have managed to detain the man by placing police officers in civilian clothes next to the showers. It wasn’t long until
the voyeur came back peeping. He was leaving the bathroom calmly and slowly when he was detained.
Unfortunately, his story is not unique. Another voyeur was caught just a few days ago, who installed cameras in his apartments which were rented to girls attending Balaton Sound. The owner allegedly admitted to committing all crimes he was charged with.
Balaton Sound 2019 had a record number of visitors, as 172,000 people visited the festival beach this July. Saturday (6 July) was completely sold out.
The festival beach opened four new VIP areas: a vintage Circus themed, a tropical jungle themed, one inside the new Dreher Arena, and a VIP beach, recalling the French rivieras.
Organisers wanted to raise awareness for sustainability and started a tree planting project. The festival donated 10 trees to the host town Zamárdi. Apart from Hungarian artists and celebrities, Armin Van Buuren also attended the tree planting. The festival will continue to donate 10 trees to Zamárdi each year. Environmental protection and sustainable living was part of the festival in many other ways too. For example, when you bought a drink, you did not get a straw unless you specifically asked for one, and it was not made of plastic but some kind of paper. There were also many separate trash containers for the recyclable plastic water bottles.
Balaton Sound continued its Safety First program this year. 80 Hungarian and foreign volunteers attended the festival who provided medical or psychological help for those in need. They were there to make visitors feel safer. Visitors could check where the nearest Safety First point to them was in the Balaton Sound application. If they were unable to make it to such a point, they could use SoundWatch to call or text for help.
Balaton Sound 2020 will be held from 8 July – 12 July next year. Tickets are available for purchase.
Balaton Sound 2019 – The festival beach lived up to its name. The weather was particularly gracious to BS this year; it was hot and sunny, except for Sunday when visitors could not escape a quick summer storm. But what else was different this year besides the weather?
The first thing that caught my eye while I was sitting on the train to Zamárdi was a giant floating octopus in the air. As we entered the festival, we noticed that the giant octopus also had a number of friends and a giant ray buddy as well.
Upgraded VIP areas
Organisers really wanted to make sure that if you bought a VIP ticket, you left the festival satisfied. Four VIP areas were built this year, 3 of these with a unique theme and vibe.
In front of the main stage was the all-red Circus-themed VIP with red carpets and furniture everywhere.
Next to the Elrow stage, there was the Elrow VIP, which had a tropical jungle vibe with plants and animals all over the place; parrots, flamingos, monkeys, etc.
The VIP beach had its own small piece of lake Balaton. The décor was all-white giving off French riviera vibes.
There was a fourth VIP area inside Dreher Arena.
People dressed up in all kinds of costumes were entertaining the festival-goers all day and night.
Last year, there was hardly anything to do during the day except lying on the beach. This year, many brands represented themselves and entertained visitors with activities and everybody’s favourite thing: free stuff.
For example, Halls brought cabins with cool fresh air and free gum, you could taste fresh Hungarian cherries, sausage and ham bites, and you could even try out a roll-over simulator. Among all the brands that were represented at the festival, Coca-Cola stood out the most, who decided to bring a whole other season to the summer heat.
Coca-Cola built a unique Christmas/winter set with a reindeer-driven sledge, a huge chimney, a snow canon, and the jolly white-bearded man himself: Santa Claus in a T-shirt, shorts, and a red Converse.
Visitors could take a photo with Santa Clause inside his hut (with a nicely decorated Christmas tree and a fireplace) or outside on his sledge, and get a free ice-cold coke in exchange. The set was an odd sight to see if you bumped into it randomly: Christmas decorations everywhere while our favourite Christmas jams filled the air, like the classic All I want for Christmas from Mariah Carey.
This year’s Balaton Sound was not the most fortunate one in terms of announced artists vs actual performers. There was hardly any day without someone cancelling their shows at the festival, including two of the most anticipated events: Sean Paul and DJ Snake. There were a lot of disappointed fans.
Luckily, the festival was able to replace them with Armin Van Buuren on Saturday, and Alesso on Sunday. However, those artists who did perform at Balaton sound 2019 gave BIG shows. The crowd loved G-Eazy as well as Alesso and all the others.
The Hungarian festivalbeach Balaton Sound has opened with 2019’s huge line-up at Lake Balaton, Zamárdi. Wednesday saw Tiesto, J Balvin, Don Diablo, The Martinez Brothers and many more bringing electrifying performances to a sun-soaked lakeside site on Day 1.
Taking place between 3rd – 7th July 2019, Balaton Sound will see 5 days of non-stop beach-based fun with this year’s line-up for boat-parties is better than ever before. Zamárdi festival’s Boat Parties are back again this year, setting sail from Siófok’s Bahart port.
As well as four new luxury VIP venues the Balaton Sound ’Beach Bash’ parties are back every day from 4:30-6:30pm. Each Beach Bash will take place at one of the festival’s three new awesome beaches: Gold, White, Red. The fancy party-series opened on the 3rd of July at the Gold Beach with a Welcome Party.
Sustainability and harmony with the environment is a main goal for Balaton Sound this year once again.
The organizers want to thank their tree planting program for the cooperation with Zamárdi and hopefully start of a beautiful tradition. The year Balaton Sound has pledged it’s environmental commitment with reusable cups available and swapping plastic straws for paper straws, which will supplant about 400,000 traditional plastic cups, minimizing the amount of plastic waste.

The organisers of the Red Bull Air Race have visited Zamárdi, on Lake Balaton, in their search for an alternative venue for this year’s event, the town’s mayor told MTI.
The organisers negotiated with city leaders last week, and also met local officials from Fonyód, another city on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, said Gyula Csákovics.
Visitors could watch the race from Zamárdi’s 3km-long beach, while pilots could use nearby airports in Sármellek, Siófok or Szentkirályszabadja, he said.
Hosting the race just a week after Balaton Sound, a music festival that draws tens of thousands of youth to the same venue, wouldn’t be a problem, “as that’s what the high season is for”, he added.
Budapest mayor István Tarlós recently said the capital would not issue a permit for the Red Bull Air Race,
planned for July 12-14 of this year, because of “inadequate conditions”, prompting a search by local organiser Hungaroring Sport for an alternative venue. Read more HERE.
The city of Keszthely, on the south-west shore of Lake Balaton, has also indicated it would welcome the race in July, partnering with the neighbouring spa town of Hévíz. Read more details HERE.

Joining an already stellar cast list, including the likes of Armin van Buuren, Marshmello, Paul Kalkbrenner, and DJ Snake, Balaton Sound has revealed the gigantic Phase 2 line-up announcement for this summer’s hotly anticipated festival.
With the 2019 edition of the event once again set to take place on the stunning Lake Balaton, Dutch EDM legend Tiesto will headline the main stage on the opening night, with platinum-selling duo The Chainsmokers also scheduled for a main stage appearance during the 5-day non-stop beach themed festival. Taking place between 3rd – 7th July 2019, Balaton Sound will also see rap superstar G-Eazy in attendance, with an eagerly anticipated live performance from Rudimental rounding off the event with a fitting finale on Sunday evening.
The sister of Sziget festival in Hungary will also welcome BRIT Award nominee Jess Glynne, Columbian star J Balvin, whose collaboration on Cardi B’s smash hit “I Like It” reached the number #1 spot on the Billboard charts, plus Protocol label boss Nicky Romero, hugely popular U.S duo Sofi Tukker, and Shark Squad leader Jauz. They’ll also be electrifying sets from Dubfire, Vinai, Martin Jensen, and Deorro. The Phase 2 line-up announcement is rounded off by French duo Tchami X Malaa, who have spent much of the past 18 months bringing their ‘No Redemption’ concept to various stages worldwide.
The 5-Day Pass gives the full crazy beach party experience at Lake Balaton, whilst fans can opt for a 3 or 4-day pass giving them a chance to enjoy a split of the festival. Day tickets start from €64.00, 3-day passes from €165.00, 4-day passes from €179.00 and 5-day passes start at €205.00.

Balaton Sound festival welcomed over 165,000 visitors this year, which is 8,000 visitors more than the last record No. of attendees established two years ago in 2016. Let’s review everything that happened at Balaton Sound 2018.
Every year, the small and quiet town of Zamárdi comes alive for a week when thousands of people come here to have a great time and see some of the most famous musicians from all over the world. This year, the weather was extremely good, the sun was shining, people were playing in the water, sunbathing on the beach, and there was no need for a cardigan even during the concerts at night.

Statistics
More than 165,000 people visited Balaton Sound 2018 from nearly 60 different countries from all over the world. The festival hosted the highest No. of people on Saturday (7 July) with 40,000 people attending the event. Tickets were completely sold out on Saturday.
The Earth was literally moving
The enormous crowd at Balaton Sound caused a minor earthquake reported by the Tihany measuring station. There was a vibration similar to the one that occurred during the Mexican-German World Cup match when the Mexicans scored the winning goal.

Safe and sound
While the festival closed with a record-breaking number of visitors, there were no serious accidents, or other problems reported. Balaton Sound 2018 was peaceful and safe.
New main stage
Veteran Balaton Sound attendees could notice that the main stage received a makeover. The well-known design with the colourful boxes disappeared, and it was replaced with this very dystopian, alien-looking style which immediately reminded me of the movie Mad Max.
Free makeover
The coolest booth, without a doubt, goes to Tampax, who basically established a beauty salon in the middle of the festival. Every day from 4 P.M. until late at night there were two make-up artists and two hairdressers working to make everyone (mostly girls, but boys were welcome too) look their best at the parties later on. Festival goers could get a makeover completely free if they were willing to stand in line. The most popular look was the one with braided hair and lots of glitter and gemstones on the face, the more colourful the better.
Drinks
Festivals are not known for their cheap prices. The cheapest drink you could purchase at the festival was probably the bottled water for HUF 430, and the most expensive drinks were the group cocktails and the quality champagnes. A new system was introduced mainly to try and reduce plastic waste: everybody had to purchase a reusable hard plastic cup for a few hundred forints (on top of the price of the drink), but this could be returned to any booth and be exchanged for a new one any time for free. It was nice to see some steps being made towards being more environment-friendly.
Music & Mood
All of the artists gave their best to entertain the huge crowd. To me personally, the biggest surprise was rapper Big Shaq (English actor and comedian Michael Dapaah) who basically has only one big hit on the internet, a song called Man’s Not Hot, so I was extremely curious about what he will do on stage for a whole hour.
He managed to entertain his crowd very well, and I thought that the concert was really enjoyable. Of course, the biggest headliners did not disappoint either such as David Guetta, Alesso or Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. The Chainsmokers started a little late (40 minutes), and people started to get a little bit upset, but the boys ended up making a good show.

The festival will be held from Wednesday to Sunday, between July 4 and 8.
Stars like The Chainsmokers, French DJ David Guetta, US hip-hop star Big Sean and British R+B singer Rita Ora will perform. In his first performance in Hungary, French DJ and producer DJ Snake will play with the Swedish group Axwell and Ingrosso.
At the venue dubbed Clubs on the Beach, DJs from clubs in Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Ibiza and London will perform.
This year, the festival will launch its Safety First programme, employing experts and volunteers to ensure security, and a chat service where festivalgoers can report dangerous situations immediately, organisers said.
It is not easy to describe the experience of Balaton Sound to someone who has never been there. The music, the lights, the people, it all comes together to form an energising cocktail to lift you up and keep you going for days. Balaton Sound is a must-visit event if you like music festivals and you are visiting Hungary.
Balaton Sound 2018 kicks off on 4 July (Wednesday) and lasts until 8 July (Sunday) in Zamárdi. Here are 4 reasons why you should definitely put Balaton Sound on your bucket list for this summer. You can get your tickets here.
The beach
One of the best features of Balaton Sound is the fact that it is literally on the beach. You can swim, sunbath all day or just lie on the beach while sipping cocktails with your friends before the evening concerts start. Lake Balaton has such a special atmosphere that it does not really matter what you do, everything is better if you do it at the lake. It is true for festivals as well.
Boat parties
You can get tickets to the Balaton Sound Veuve Clicquot boat parties which are organised in the middle of lake Balaton. The huge party boat departs from Siófok, BAHART port and stops in the middle of the lake. Hungarian and international DJs provide the music for the non-stop parties on board.
A new stage will be added to Balaton Sound’s venue this year called Clubs On the Beach (COTB). The project aims to please house and techno lovers. Five Internationally renowned nightclubs/brands will arrive in Zamárdi to occupy the waterfront with their residents for an entire day, including Watergate (Berlin), Rex (Paris), Fuse (Brussels), Pacha (Ibiza), and Defected (London).
Huge variety of artists
Each year, a variety of musical genres are represented at Balaton Sound, and 2018 is no exception. Worldwide famous DJs including David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Alesso, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike or Axwell & Ingrosso (just to mention a few names) are representing the electronic and dance genre.
David Guetta, for example, is not a stranger at the event, as he can be considered a veteran performer at the festival at this point, but Martin Garrix and Axwell & Ingrosso have also performed at the festival before.
The world of rap is represented by performers such as Big Sean or TY Dolla Sign, but pop enthusiasts will not be disappointed either, as Rita Ora or The Chainsmokers will be there as well. The most popular Hungarian bands are also there each year, including Punnany Massif, Wellhello, Majka & Curtis, Brains, Belga or Halott Pénz just to mention a few.

Festivals in Hungary have become more competitive on the international market thanks to subsidies and a reduction in the related VAT rate, a government official said on Wednesday.
Bence Rétvári, the parliamentary state secretary of the ministry of human resources, told public media that the average foreign visitor spends 40,000-100,000 (EUR 125-310) forints per day. Fully 10-12 percent of tourism in Hungary is linked to festivals, with every eighth to tenth foreign visitor attending one.
Most visitors to the Sziget come from abroad and nearly half of the visitors to Balaton Sound are foreign.
Surrounding major festivals are various cultural and gastronomic events, he noted, adding that smaller localities have also jumped onto the festival bandwagon.
