Film stars swarm Hungary: Bobby Ewing of Dallas, Linda Purl, and 365 Days’ Italian heartthrob spotted

Dallas Bobby Ewing Patrick Duffy and Linda Purl in Hungary (Copy)

A year ago, we reported that Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) from the Dallas series filmed his latest project in Hungary. But Duffy did not just fly in for work and head straight back to North America. He stayed on to explore our country with his gorgeous partner, American actress Linda Purl. Yesterday, the couple was seen dining in a popular restaurant in Miskolc. Meanwhile, the Italian heartthrob Michele Morrone, best known for his role in 365 Days and its sequels, is also currently in Hungary.

Patrick Duffy returns to Hungary

According to the Hungarian tabloid Blikk, Duffy recently visited the renowned Végállomás Bistro & Wine in Miskolc, where he enjoyed traditional Hungarian dishes such as Hortobágy-style meat-filled pancakes (you can find a similar recipe HERE) and Hungarian Mangalica steak crusted with parmesan. Duffy and Purl also sampled Hungarian pálinka, a local fruit brandy.

The 75-year-old Dallas star and his partner ordered a tasting platter featuring local cheeses, meats, and bread. For dessert, they chose “The Waking Forest”, a dish composed of dark chocolate, sour cream ice cream, pistachios, and blackcurrants. They also tried quince pálinka. The restaurant shared some photos of their visit on its Facebook page.

Duffy and Purl are in Hungary to promote the Dallas star’s new film, Lepattanó. Duffy was, therefore, a guest of honour at the 20th CineFest International Film Festival in Miskolc this week. We previously reported that *Lepattanó* is a romantic comedy starring Péter Scherer. It was producer Csaba Vékes who had the idea to approach Patrick Duffy with an offer to play a Hungarian billionaire patron who amassed his wealth abroad. The producers wrote him a lengthy letter explaining how much Hungarians loved *Dallas* and his character. Since Duffy liked the screenplay and the character, he agreed, even though he had never been to the former Eastern Bloc before.

Meet Patrick Duffy in Budapest this weekend

The shooting started last September, and Patrick Duffy was amazed by how much Hungarians adore him. Eager to explore Budapest with Linda Purl, the couple visited Matthias Church for a concert, spent days at the Opera House, and remarked that Budapest should never have skyscrapers because if such tall buildings were constructed in the Hungarian capital, nobody would be able to see the beautiful Danube.

According to Blikk, the new comedy will premiere in Hungarian cinemas on 26th September. However, there will be a pre-premiere screening on 14th September at Budapest’s Cinema City Arena, where you can meet Patrick Duffy. The film is set to start at 8 p.m.

Here is the film’s trailer:

Another star also in Hungary

Italian actor Michele Morrone is well-known for his portrayal of Massimo Torricelli in the 2020 erotic romantic drama 365 Days and its sequels, 365 Days: This Day and The Next 365 Days, released in 2022. Interestingly, Morrone decided to pursue acting after watching a Harry Potter film at the age of 11. He began taking lead roles in short Italian films, but it was his portrayal of mafia crime boss Massimo Torricelli in 365 Days, a Polish erotic romantic drama available on Netflix, that brought him international recognition. Morrone is also a professional guitarist and launched a luxury beachwear brand for women, AurumRoma, in 2020. He designs his own collections in collaboration with fashion designer Chiara Pollano.

Spotted in Király Street: Woody Harrelson charms Budapest with his humour

woody harrelson banksy exhibition budapest

Woody Harrelson, currently in Budapest for the filming of Now You See Me 3, has been making the most of his time in the Hungarian capital. After being spotted playing sports with local figures like Sándor Noszály and Áron Molnár, the Hollywood star was recently photographed at the World of Banksy exhibition in Király Street. His friendly and open demeanour made quite an impression on the event organisers.

Woody Harrelson enjoys his time in Budapest

According to Hungarian tabloid Blikk, the Emmy Award-winning actor spent time exploring the exhibition, showing a deep interest in the street art on display while snapping photos along the way.

Earlier reports already hinted that Harrelson could easily be encountered around Budapest, where he’s shooting alongside other global stars. At 63, the American actor seems to be in great shape—first seen playing paddleball with Hungarian tennis player Sándor Noszály, then just a few days later playing basketball with actor Áron Molnár.

Harrelson at the Banksy exhibition

Harrelson, it seems, hasn’t been shy about mingling with fans. This week, he was spotted again, this time at the World of Banksy – Street Art on Canvas exhibition.

“Unbelievable! One of Hollywood’s most iconic actors admired the famous street artist’s works right here in Budapest,” the World of Banksy Budapest team shared on social media, along with a photo of the smiling star:

According to the exhibition’s organisers, Harrelson dropped by just before closing time on Wednesday. His laid-back and approachable nature left a lasting impression on the staff. “It was an incredible experience for us,” shared Benyovszki Dorina, the exhibition’s manager, in a short interview with welovebudapest.com. “He was incredibly friendly and hilarious. He gladly took photos with everyone and signed autographs. He even promised to share a post about our exhibition!”

Harrelson isn’t the only Now You See Me 3 cast member enjoying the streets of Budapest. Jesse Eisenberg, who was nominated for an Oscar for his role in The Social Network, was seen visiting a magician’s shop in early August, while Morgan Freeman was spotted dining at the popular Déryné Bistro.

Sándor Noszály, a Hungarian tennis champion, met Woody Harrelson in Budapest, and they posted a selfie made near a padel court. That was not the first time he met the Emmy Award-winning Hollywood star. In 2014, they bumped into each other in Beverly Hills.

According to Blikk, a Hungarian tabloid, Noszály captured their photo with “1 of the best”. He also posted a quotation from the American actor: “Never was disillusioned with acting because I love acting.”

They took the photo near a padel court, probably after playing. Padel (Spanish: pádel), also sometimes called padel tennis, is a racket sport of Mexican origin, typically played in doubles on an enclosed court slightly smaller than a doubles tennis court. Although padel shares the same scoring system as tennis, the rules, strokes, and technique are different. The balls used are similar but with a little less pressure. The main differences are that the court has walls, and the balls can be played off them in a similar way as in the game of squash and that solid, stringless bats are used.

In May 2022, Noszály took a selfie with Lionel Messi in Paris:

The tour, featuring special guests Hollywood Undead and Sleep Theory, kicks off on 7 November in Lisbon and includes a highly anticipated stop at Budapest’s Barba Negra on 23 November.

Falling in Reverse in Hungary

Index reports that Ronnie Radke and his band, Falling in Reverse, will be touring Europe this November in support of their new album Popular Monster. The tour, named Popular Monstour II, will feature special guests Hollywood Undead and Sleep Theory. The European tour kicks off on 7 November in Lisbon, Portugal, and includes a stop at Budapest’s Barba Negra on 23 November.

About the tour

The tour will also feature the renowned Californian metal/rap rock band Hollywood Undead, who last performed in Hungary in May 2023 alongside Papa Roach. At the Falling in Reverse concert, Sleep Theory will set the atmosphere alongside Hollywood Undead’s Johnny 3 Tears. The tour, which begins in Lisbon, will make stops across Germany, France, the UK, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Poland. Although the 2024 album Popular Monster has received mixed reviews, with many tracks already released as singles, it still offers a solid experience, especially since Falling in Reverse rarely tours in Europe.

Where to buy your ticket

You can buy your ticket on Livenation, but you have to hurry, as tickets are expected to sell out fast. The bands are scheduled to perform on Barba Negra’s Red Stage. However, there is a possibility that the concert will be moved to a bigger stage, as it has happened a few times already in the past.

Taylor Swift in Budapest? Fans heartbroken as 3 Vienna concerts cancelled

Taylor Swift fans were left deeply disappointed after her Vienna concerts were cancelled due to a terror threat. Some fans lost money on hotels, while others undertook long journeys in vain. Hungarian fans have now started a petition to move the cancelled concerts to Budapest.

Austria’s Interior Ministry announced that two people had been arrested on suspicion of planning an attack at Taylor Swift’s Vienna concerts. Security measures were initially tightened, but the decision was ultimately made to cancel all three shows.

One fan, who was already in Vienna when the news broke, revealed to RTL that she had planned to attend all three concerts and had spent about HUF 400,000 (more than EUR 1,000) on her accommodation. Another fan said she had booked a hotel in Vienna but decided not to travel due to safety concerns, even though she couldn’t get a refund.

Vienna’s compensation

Many fans had gone to great lengths for the concerts; one drove for 17 hours, while another flew from Hawaii partly to attend.

In response to the widespread disappointment, Vienna has offered various forms of compensation, including free entry to several museums for ticket holders until 11 August. Meanwhile, Hungarian Swifties have launched a petition to bring the cancelled shows to Budapest, hoping to give the star’s fans another chance to see her perform.

Jesse Eisenberg of ‘Now You See Me’ visits Budapest magician’s shop, masters new tricks

Jesse Eisenberg

The third instalment of the successful heist film series, ‘Now You See Me’, is being shot in Hungary. Thus, you may bump into cast members on the street, minding their own business. Oscar-nominated Jesse Eisenberg has recently paid a visit to a local magician shop, where the staff were kind enough to teach him some new tricks.

Jesse Eisenberg in Budapest

Jesse Eisenberg is a renowned American actor best known for his portrayal of Mark Zuckerberg in the critically acclaimed film ‘The Social Network’, which earned him an Academy Award nomination. He gained further recognition for his role as an illusionist in the popular ‘Now You See Me’ franchise. Now, the third instalment of the heist film series is being shot in Budapest. Jesse Eisenberg might have had a growing interest towards illusions and magic, as he visited a magician’s shop in the heart of the Hungarian capital.

The shop owner’s experience with the actor

Blikk writes that the American actor was very kind to the shop’s owner. István Szabó, owner of the magician’s shop, says:

Although the magic tricks in ‘Now You See Me’ are film tricks or stunts performed by a hand double, Jesse Eisenberg, perhaps influenced by the films and his magician character, has a serious interest in magic. He was looking for a specific trick, a deck of cards stitched together, but he didn’t settle on a single branch of magic.

They even took a photo together.

Mastering new tricks

István Szabó was stunned by the actor‘s interest. Jesse Eisenberg was more than happy to learn some new tricks from István’s colleague:

My colleague, Vince, showed him lots of tricks. He was interested in the shell game, but he also bought a mentalist trick. In fact, he was keen to learn the card-colouring trick, which is in the film, but he didn’t actually perform it there. So Vince gave him a ten-minute crash course. Who knows, he might even use the skills he learned here not only in real life but in the film!

American pop icon Joe Jonas on WWI Hungarian soldier photo – how is that possible?

American pop icon Joe Jonas on WWI Hungarian soldier photo

Joe Jonas is known for his famous role in the iconic American pop band, the Jonas Brothers, being at the peak of fame in the late 2000s. But how can he appear in a Transylvanian soldier photo dating back to the darkest days of the world’s history, World War I?

Joe Jonas, a time-traveller?

Is Joe Jonas, the eldest of the Jonas brothers a time-traveller? Not likely. But he showed up in a soldier photo displayed in a Transylvanian museum, which left some visitors baffled. As far as we know, neither of the three siblings has ever been to Hungary or Transylvania, so it cannot happen that such a costume photo was made of him with proper techniques.

The photo in question was discovered in an exhibition at the Maros County Museum of Ethnography and Folk Art. The theme is ‘People from the Maros Riverside in the Trenches of the Great War‘. Since Joe Jonas was born in 1989, he cannot be in any photos. But he is.

Here is the photo. Click HERE for a virtual tour. Photo: PrtScr/Virtual Tour of the exhibition

One of the visitors to the exhibition was able to detect the American pop icon in one of the photos made of k.u.k soldiers, a short form of Imperial and Royal Army. He shared his experience with 444.hu, and the Hungarian news outlet asked the organisers.

444.hu asked Tamás Sárándi, the exhibition’s curator. He said the WWI photo is original. However, the original snapshot was small, and some faces were unrecognisable. Since they wanted to serve the public’s expectations concerning huge, spectacular soldier photos, they enlarged the original image. But if they only did so, the quality would have been disappointing.

Software substituted the original Hungarian soldier’s face with the oldest Jonas

Therefore, they allowed a photo editor programme to correct shaded and unrecognisable parts, 444.hu wrote.

A reader of 444.hu said such programmes try to find a similar face in their huge databank to correct the original. Some features of the Hungarian soldier were probably resembling Joe Jonas. Therefore, the programme chose the American icon to substitute the shady, blurred or damaged parts of the soldier’s face. And that is how Joe Jonas ‘was reborn’ in the WWI photo. In such processes, it is not rare that the result is another man’s face.

Sárándi said most of their visitors realise that the soldier photos have been “revamped” with modern techniques to make every detail enjoyable. But it happened for the first time that somebody could recognise a living person in the soldier photos.

Check out Joe Jonas’s TikTok channel HERE. Many say it is worth it because of the funny content he regularly uploads.

Formula 1: After last year’s incident, Lando Norris will race in unique Hungarian Herend helmet

lando norris herend helmet cropped

Lando Norris’ last encounter with a prized Herend porcelain did not go too well: in 2023, he accidentally smashed Max Verstappen’s winning trophy while celebrating after the Hungarian Grand Prix. But from the accident came a collaboration, and this year, the McLaren driver will wear a unique, hand-painted helmet adorned with famous Herend motifs.

Also reported by DNH at the time, the celebration after last year’s Hungarian Grand Prix was a memorable one. Max Verstappen, Lando Norris, and Sergio Pérez finished in the top three during the race, and as the usual post-race champagne parade began, Norris accidentally knocked Verstappen’s Herend porcelain first-place trophy to the ground, shattering it into pieces. The trophy was handmade by 30 people over six months and had an estimated value of EUR 40,000.

After the incident, the McLaren team apologised to Verstappen, and the Herend Porcelain Manufactory offered to replace the broken prize. Fortunately, it seems that there is no bad blood between Lando Norris and the Manufactory. The celebration gone awry last year has now brought a fruitful relationship.

Herend Porcelain Manufactory teams up with Lando Norris

As Bors writes, before this year’s Hungarian Grand Prix, Norris arrived in the country early to visit the Herend Porcelain Manufactory. Attila Simon, CEO of the Manufactory, said that the McLaren driver was shown around the building and the various stages of manufacture, and even tried his hand at porcelain painting.

The visit was obviously a success, so much so that Simon jokingly said,

“Lando passed his test very well, I offered him a job at the porcelain factory and he didn’t say no!”

As he pointed out, on a more serious note, “There was a long lead-up to this meeting. Herend has been the supplier of trophies to the Hungarian Grand Prix for many years. Lando is a serious favourite for the race. We are confident that the trophy will be in his hands this year.”

“You always have to look on the bright side of everything,” Simon added, referring to the accidental trophy-smashing of last year, continuing “Herend Porcelain is a value-creating community.”

Beautiful helmet from the Herend Manufactory to support a good cause

That is why this year, the McLaren driver will be wearing a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted helmet for the Grand Prix. Attila Simon said that eight months earlier, Lando Norris’ manager approached Herend Porcelain Manufactory with the idea of creating a helmet for the driver. The final look was selected from a number of designs and, as Attila Simon said, it shows “that an unusual event can turn into a value-creating relationship.”

herend lando norris
Photo: Lando Norris / Facebook

“The whole idea obviously came from last year, in trying to make up for what happened,” Norris told reporters, continuing “and show my respect also, because I’m a big fan and I respect a lot the design, the time, and the effort that everyone does to create something so special.”

The joint work went well, with Norris saying, “We were able to create something with this helmet that has a real meaning, a message. It’s always very important to a driver what kind of helmet they are racing in. Thank you very much to the Herend family for this helmet.” Then, he added,  “And next week I will start my work here!”

According to the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, the pattern of the Helmet was inspired by the “Hungarian motifs” (“Motifs Hongrois”) décor with the elements of Transylvanian embroideries of the 15th-17th centuries, supplemented with bee, bird, and butterfly motifs that are iconic to the manufactory. The artwork was hand-painted with a needle-point brush, over countless hours. The final result is a truly stunning work of art.

On social media, Norris wrote: “Honour to team up with @herendporcelain on this hand-painted masterpiece for Hungary. When we got together we knew we wanted to do something special and here it is. From the bottom of my heart thank you (and sorry about last year).”

After the race on Sunday, the unique helmet will be signed by Lando Norris and auctioned off with the proceeds donated to charity.

Ishowspeed is in Hungary

The 19-year-old American star Youtuber, IShowSpeed (Darren Jason Watkins Jr.) barked at a dog and almost got in a fight with her, then went to a mall where many random fans followed him. He also listened to some Hungarian music. Then he tried traditional Hungarian goulash soup and even did a backflip in front of a Danube restaurant. Meanwhile, he continuously tapped his phone and never stopped moving. On top of that, he live-streamed all this.

IShowSpeed learned Hungarian and distributed Negro candies

IShowSpeed is in Hungary’s capital, Budapest, and started his camera soon after his arrival. That was bad news for a dog silently staring around not far from the Mammut mall in Buda. The American YouTuber went next to her and started barking, which the dog did not like, so he almost bit him while her owner asked the influencer to go away.

After the awkward moment, he bumped into a guy wearing the same T-shirt as him. Then somebody gave him a Negro, a traditional Hungarian candy, which he started to distribute to random people on the street and in the mall.

He started to learn some Hungarian words like “F*ck off”, and the Hungarian version of “You’re beautiful as hell”, but unfortunately called a random girl a whore, so he stopped that.

In the mall, he bought some shoes and perfumes for his fans he found stinky. By that time, he already had many people around him, most of them trying to take a selfie with the American YouTube star.

He visited the biggest “Romanian castle” in Budapest

From the Mammut mall, he drove to the Buda Castle, where he got some presents from his fans. There, he met Balázs Kicks (Balázs Pachert, 20), the head of a successful Hungarian sneaker store, who gave him some exquisite footwear. Below is his Instagram post. In front of the Buda Castle Matthias Church, one of the symbols of Budapest and Hungary, he said he would go inside “the biggest castle in Romania”. Then he denied he said Romania.

He was astonished by the view at the Fisherman’s Bastion. Then he jumped back to the car and listened to an Azahriah hit, which he ranked 7/10. Afterwards, he put a Danika House in the music player, which made him shout.

Traditional music and goulash soup near the Danube

Afterwards, he arrived in Pest, where he continued his journey at the Saint Stephen’s Cathedral. By then, lots of people followed him, so he shouted at them to give him way.

He went to a traditional Hungarian restaurant near the Danube, where he listened to Hungarian music and even sat down for a while but did not finish shouting. He wanted to give a tip to the musicians but, firstly, he did not know that we paid in Hungarian forint here, and secondly, he did not have cash. But people around him helped him with some money, so he could give the musicians approximately HUF 40 thousand (EUR 100).

Then he got his goulash soup, which he tried with bread following his fans’ recommendation. He promised to do a backflip if he liked the soup. “This sh*t is so good”, he said. And he did the backflip while shouting goulash.

Some people did not like he was there

When he wanted to leave the restaurant, a woman showed him her middle finger, which made him really angry. She said she wanted to have dinner. “She put the middle finger to me”, he said, while a man said they just tried to have dinner, but the shouting continued, which probably disturbed the people sitting and eating around that table.

Finally, the bodyguards had to escort him out of the crowd.

Who is IShowSpeed?

Darren Jason Watkins Jr., known online as IShowSpeed or simply Speed, was born on January 21, 2005. He registered his YouTube channel “IShowSpeed” in 2016, where he began posting gaming content. He started gaining online attention in 2021 due to his aberrant behaviour and comments, which resulted in bans from Twitch and the game Valorant.

Two years later, he shifted towards football-related content, leading to appearances at the Sidemen Charity Football Match and meeting sports athletes. His favourite soccer player is Christiano Ronaldo. That is why he wears number 7 on his T-shirts.

Hungarian cop protects 40-50k locals in Toronto

Balázs Zanati was born in Keszthely but serves in Toronto, where he is responsible for the safety and security of at least 40-50 thousand locals. He is a friend of Arnold Schwarzenegger and talked about his job and how former colleagues welcomed him home to a Hungarian tabloid.

Hungarian cop in Toronto

Mr Zanati is a member of the Canada Toronto Police Service and serves as a neighbourhood officer in the 14th division. The father of three kids told Blikk that he does not have a red uniform or a hat and never sits on the back of a horse. He said building a community and creating relationships with the people is part of their job as neighbourhood officers.

Toronto has 16 police districts, and each district has divisions. He said he regularly had to deal with drug traders, users and armed bands fighting even each other. The neighbourhood officer institution enables people to meet the same cops each day, lowering anxiety.

“We stop to chat with them and see what is going on in the shops, markets, restaurants. A strong trust relationship can be developed, so they will turn to us when something goes wrong. I can give my official number to anybody, so people feel as if they have their own officer at hand”, Zanati added.

Toronto struggles with drugs, theft, armed bands

He said problems were different in Canada than in Hungary. In Toronto, he struggles with drug consumption and trade, armed groups and car thefts.

Meeting with colleagues from Zugló:

He said he saw things he would never forget. For example, once he arrived first at a murder scene and tried to revitalise the victim unsuccessfully. Another time, doctors cut a leg in front of him and gave it to him to place the limb in a cold store because it may serve as evidence later.

Bulletproof vests and GPS body cameras are part of their equipment there. Therefore, he can check out the areas he already monitored. Furthermore, the cameras affect people’s behaviour since the records can serve as evidence in a court trial. Civilians regularly call them “Sir” and people respect their work.

He was a military officer before

Zanati served as a military officer in Hungary, then left the country for Toronto in 2005, seeking adventure. When the global financial crisis hit the country in 2008, he worked in a car dealership, which closed. His friends from the gym recommended him to the local police.

He succeeded in the application process at first attempt. Good communication and problem-solving skills, life experience and even his Hungarian language knowledge were essential. A Hungarian community of 50 thousand people live in and around Toronto. There are 8,000 police officers, but only 3 or 4 speak Hungarian.

Budapest has emerged as a premier destination for Hollywood film productions, thanks to its unique combination of architectural diversity, cost efficiency and scenic beauty. The city’s versatile landscape can mimic various European cities, such as Paris, making it an ideal backdrop for many movie settings. Budapest offers significant cost savings compared to Western Europe and the United States, with lower production costs. In addition, Hollywood stars also adore the Hungarian capital and enjoy spending their holidays here.

Hollywood couple in Budapest

Blikk has reported that a famous Hollywood couple celebrated a special milestone in Budapest. Troy’s actress Diane Kruger and The Walking Dead’s Daryl Dixon actor Norman Reedus, who began dating in the summer of 2016, are now celebrating their eighth anniversary. To mark this special occasion, the 47-year-old actress shared a romantic selfie on her Instagram page from Budapest, where the couple enjoyed time together at a rooftop bar. At the rooftop bar in Ferenciek Square, the Hollywood couple was treated to a stunning panoramic view of the city, adding to the charm of their celebration. When was the photo taken?

Although the photo was posted recently, it is unclear whether the Hollywood couple snapped it recently or is just a reminiscent throwback. Femina guesses that the picture is fresh, as the people in the background wear summery clothes. However, if this is an older photo, it must have been taken in April. In April, Norman Reedus was filming Ballerina, a John Wick spinoff, with Keanu Reeves, in Szentendre, Hungary.

Wordwide metal sensation Pantera returns to Hungary!

pantera concert

The world-renowned metal band Pantera is set to return to Hungary early next year. The band will start their European tour in January and entertain the Hungarian audience at the beginning of February.

2025 European tour kickoff

Pantera, one of the most influential bands in metal history, will commence their European tour on 21 January in Helsinki. The tour will include stops in Stockholm, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Paris, according to the event organizer, Live Nation. Following their dual concerts last year in Hungary, Pantera will perform at the Budapest Sports Arena on 3 February 2025, as part of their European tour.

Honouring founding members

The band, currently featuring original members Philip H. Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass), along with Zakk Wylde (guitar) and Charlie Benante (drums), will pay tribute to their late founding members, drummer Vinnie Paul and guitarist Dimebag Darrell.

Recent performances

The band’s European journey follows successful performances in the UK and Ireland. On June 15, they played at the iconic Download Festival in Donington, marking their first UK show in three decades. This year, they also joined Metallica on their North American stadium tour, Világgazdaság writes.

Hungarian audience connection

Hungarian fans are familiar with Pantera, who performed back-to-back concerts on May 30 and 31 last year at Barba Negra, their first shows in Hungary in 25 years.

Legacy of Pantera

Formed in 1981, Pantera released nine studio albums before disbanding in 2003. They are celebrated as pioneers of heavy (groove/thrash) metal. Four of their albums—”Cowboys from Hell” (1990), “Vulgar Display of Power” (1992), “Far Beyond Driven” (1994), and “The Great Southern Trendkill” (1996)—achieved platinum status in the U.S. Their final album, “Reinventing the Steel,” came out in 2000. They are known for iconic tracks like “Cemetery Gates,” “Walk,” “I’m Broken,” and “Drag the Waters.”

Tragic losses and rebirth

Guitarist Dimebag Darrell was tragically killed in 2004 during a concert in Columbus, Ohio. Drummer Vinnie Paul passed away in 2018. Frontman Phil Anselmo nearly died from a heroin overdose in 1996 but continued his career with bands like Superjoint Ritual and Down, and later with Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, who performed at Hungary’s Rockmaraton festival in 2019. In 2022, Anselmo and Brown revived Pantera with Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante joining them.

Pantera’s impact

To date, Pantera has sold 20 million records worldwide and received four Grammy nominations.

Hungarian star goalkeeper congratulated Portuguese Pepe for breaking his late record

Hungarian star goalkeeper congratulated Portuguese Pepe

In the 1990s and the early 2000s, goalkeeper Gábor Király was the most famous Hungarian footballer, even though the Hungarian team did not score too many goals and was not too successful. Király was 40 years old in his last match in the 2016 UEFA European Football Championships.

Gábor Király’s last match is probably not something Hungarians gladly think back on. At the Euro 2016, the Hungarian team led by Balázs Dzsudzsák miraculously won its group (Portugal, Iceland, Austria). However, in the first match of the knockout phase, Király and Dzsudzsák’s team faced Belgium, who killed all our hopes with four goals.

That match was Gábor Király’s last one in the Hungarian national team, and by being 40 years and 86 days old, he became the oldest player ever in the UEFA European Football Championships.

Pepe takes on the lead

Portugal’s star centre-back, Pepe, broke that record yesterday by being 41 years and 113 days old, Telex wrote. Furthermore, Portugal has two more matches in the Euro 2024 with Pepe. They could defeat Czechia in the 92nd minute. Thus, they have favourable odds to emerge from their group. Therefore, the new European football championships’ age record will exceed 41 years and 113 days soon.

“Congratulations to Pepe on being the oldest player ever in the history of the European Championship! Big respect and all the best!”

The brand has also introduced a ground-breaking innovation in water treatment, taking it to a new level with the first-of-its-kind innovation, the CrystalTower process.

The launch of FloeWater in aluminium cans is one of our most significant and exciting product innovations this year, as we are using a revolutionary new filtration technology and entering a new category thanks to the pre-packaged format.
