Uncanny discovery: Human skull found in Szeged, Hungary – PHOTO

A 16-year-old boy found a human skull while riding his bike on the side of a railway embankment in Szeged-Szentmihály on Monday.

The human remains were found to have injuries and fractures, Blikk reports. The 16-year-old boy told the paper that his friend first noticed the bone, which was initially thought to be a piece of metal. When they got closer, they were confronted with a skull in the ground.

“Suddenly we were so scared that we ran away, then we called my mother and then the police,”

the boy recalled to the Hungarian tabloid. He added that the first day they were so scared in the evening they couldn’t even sleep.

The skull is probably at least 20 years old

The police confirmed to the newspaper that a skull had indeed been found. Captain Csaba Pere, press officer of the Csongrád-Csanád County Police Headquarters, said that the remains were being investigated in an administrative procedure.

There is no suspicion of violence at this stage of the procedure. The bones could be at least 20 years old, according to the on-site examination of the expert, they added.
