The foreign footage of an illegal car race in a district of Budapest has had a huge impact.

In a video posted on Instagram, a near-accident occurred in Újpest, Budapest, during an illegal car race. The footage shows an Audi R8 and a BMW M4 racing against each other. The race is taking place in Óceánárok Street in the Hungarian capital when a drifting Mercedes CLS gets in their way.

Only by chance did the incident not turn into an accident. Totalcar.hu contacted the Budapest Police Headquarters (BRFK) to ask if they have seen the footage and what they are doing about it.

The police said that they had not received any enquiries, but that they would start infringement proceedings. The BRFK said that they had previously withdrawn registration for unauthorised car modifications in three previous cases, and had also been made aware of this street before.
