Bosnian human smugglers sentenced in Hungary
Two Bosnian nationals have been sentenced in a fast-track procedure for attempting to smuggle illegal migrants to Austria, the Veszprem county chief prosecutor’s office said on Monday.
The men, both aged 21, were transporting 17 Afghans and one Pakistani and one Iranian citizen in a van when they were stopped by police on the road between Székesfehérvár and Várpalota in the evening of October 5, the statement said.
The migrants had left a refugee camp in Sombor (Zombor) in Vojvodina, crossed the Hungarian border illegally and aimed to travel to Austria.
Within three days, the two smugglers were sentenced to two and a half years in prison and expelled from Hungary for five years by the Veszprém regional court in a non-binding decision.
The prosecutor’s office acknowledged the decision, the defendants have three days to submit an appeal.

Way to light of a punishment. These smugglers should have been given 99 years at hard labor. The sentence is a joke. Why bother if that is all they plan to send them to prison for? Seems to me that the judges need to be fired and some new no nonsense judges appointed that will make a believer out of criminals that crime does not pay.
