Busó mask exhibition in Delhi – PHOTOS

An exhibition of Busó masks titled Bushow 4.0, initiated and organized by the Liszt Institute- Hungarian Cultural Centre, Delhi, unfolded as a grand celebration of creativity and artistic expression, bringing together a diverse array of participants from across the country and beyond.

The evening was graced by Dr. Sacchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) as the Chief Guest.  

Dr. Mariann Erdő, Director of the Liszt Institute, Delhi, spoke on the occasion describing the history and evolution of Busó masks.

Held at the lawns of the Embassy of Hungary, on 27 February, 2025, the exhibition featured as many as 157 participants representing four schools, five universities and independent artists.  A total of 22 striking installations were displayed showcasing innovation and artistic excellence.

At the event, a special section highlighted  Busó masks as a Hungaricum, celebrating the rich heritage of Hungary.  Adding further depth to the exhibition, 65 masks from around the globe were displayed, courtesy of IGNCA.    

The event was meticulously curated by eminent artist Neerajj Mitra.  His dedication to contemporary and experimental art continues to inspire emerging artists, pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling.   

The event was attended by the diplomats, artists, Hungarian language students in Delhi and others.
