Have you heard of Equippers Church Budapest? This relatively young international church community has recently found a permanent home in the city and celebrated its fifth anniversary with a special event.

Today, Equippers is a thriving and rapidly growing community, representing more than 40 nationalities. Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians worship side by side, while people from Mexico, Sweden, South Africa, China, Argentina, Jamaica, Jordan, New Zealand, Brazil, Pakistan, India, the United States and, of course, Hungary come together to pray for one another, their countries and their personal lives.

Over the years, Equippers has become a meeting place for international students and young people, while remaining open to people of all ages. The church is known for its contemporary worship music, welcoming atmosphere and modern approach to sharing the Gospel, which also takes its message out into the streets and public squares of Budapest.

Despite its relatively short history, the church has already become a mission base for visiting teams from every continent. One of its upcoming highlights is a 50-member Christmas carol choir from the United States, currently preparing to perform at several Christmas markets across Budapest and bring a festive musical experience to the city.

The global Equippers movement originated in Auckland, New Zealand, while its flagship European church, with a congregation of more than 1,500 people, is located on the outskirts of London in the United Kingdom.

The name Equippers reflects the movement’s vision: to equip people for life as God intended, guided by the teachings of Scripture. In Budapest, the church is led by Pastor Miro Toth, who originally comes from Slovakia, together with his wife, Marta, and their son, Tobias. The pastoral family is committed to building a lasting community and making a positive contribution to life across the city.

With its new permanent venue, Equippers Budapest now holds both morning and evening Sunday services. Alongside its weekly gatherings, the church is developing smaller communities, outreach initiatives and programmes aimed particularly at connecting with young people, both in Budapest and elsewhere in Hungary.

Equippers is about more than Sunday services. It is about building relationships across cultures, supporting one another, sharing faith and offering hope and practical help to those who need it.

In an increasingly international city like Budapest, Equippers Church aims to provide a place where people from different backgrounds can find a sense of belonging, build friendships and discover a shared spiritual home.

Asked to describe Equippers Church Budapest, Pastor Miro Toth said:

“At the heart of our church is a mission to be a community that welcomes God’s presence, welcomes people, and sees lives transformed for the better. God loves the people of Budapest, and we are here to show them just how much He loves them. Whether you are visiting the city, staying here temporarily for work or studies, or have made Budapest your home, we would be honoured to welcome you to one of our Sunday services.”
