Flydubai has resumed its direct Budapest–Dubai flights as the airline restores most of its network and expands to more than 125 destinations across 56 countries. The service is currently operating three times a week, with daily flights planned from late October.
Budapest flights resumed at the end of July
The Dubai-based carrier restarted its direct flights between Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) and Dubai International Airport (DXB) on 31 July 2026.
The Budapest route currently operates three times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. From 25 October, flydubai plans to increase the frequency to a daily service.
The airline operates the route with Boeing 737 aircraft. The service also forms part of flydubai’s partnership with Emirates, giving passengers access to a much wider combined network via Dubai.
According to flydubai, passengers travelling on connecting Emirates flights can benefit from a single booking and checked baggage transferred through to their final destination.

Flydubai network grows to more than 125 destinations
The Budapest service comes as flydubai continues to rebuild and expand its international network. In a press release issued on 14 September, the airline said it had restored operations to 85% of its network and now serves more than 125 destinations in 56 countries, with an average of 2,200 flights per week.
In recent months, flydubai has resumed or launched services to several destinations, including Aleppo, Benghazi and Bangkok. The airline has also increased its Bangkok service to three daily non-stop flights, citing strong demand.
Flydubai is due to add another destination on 23 September, when it launches flights to Pokhara in Nepal, its second destination in the country after Kathmandu.
The carrier said it expects travel demand to remain strong during the upcoming winter season, with Dubai continuing to attract visitors while passengers use the city as a hub for travel elsewhere.

Budapest offers connections to destinations beyond Dubai
Flydubai said back in July that the Budapest route also strengthens connections between Hungary and the United Arab Emirates while giving Hungarian travellers easier access to destinations in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
The airline has previously highlighted destinations such as the Maldives, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Kenya as examples of places that can be reached through Dubai.
The wider Emirates and flydubai network now offers access to more than 214 unique destinations in over 100 countries, with more than 4,600 possible connections through Dubai.
“Despite the challenging operating environment, we have remained focused on restoring our network safely and efficiently, adding capacity where we see demand while opening new markets,” flydubai Chief Executive Officer Ghaith Al Ghaith said.
He added that the airline was encouraged by strong customer demand during the summer and remained positioned to further restore its network in the coming months.

Daily Budapest service coming in October
For Hungarian travellers, the most important change will come in late October, when the Budapest–Dubai route is scheduled to become a daily service. Flydubai said it is continuing to add capacity to its year-round routes as more aircraft become available. The airline currently operates an average of 2,200 weekly flights and aims to increase this frequency further.
