Further London airport available from Budapest with a new airline
Practically, the British capital can be reached from all directions, as London Southend (SEN) appears in the supply by Flybe airline from May 2017, reports turizmusonline.hu. The popularity of London is constant, one and a half million people travelled by plane on this line only this year. Flybe will appear on the London-Budapest line with Brazilian Embraer E195 airplanes, three times a week, in the afternoon.
Six airlines and five airports are available in the next summer schedule for travellers who are planning to go to London. The airport of Luton and Stansted on the North, Heathrow on the West and Gatwick on the South are mostly known among Hungarian travellers. Southend (SEN) airport steps into this wide range of supply as a new destination on the East from the city. London can be reached from the airport located next to the city of Southend-on-Sea, by the Northern estuary of Thames in an hour.
Flybe plans to operate the line with E195 type planes from May 2017 three times a week: on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. According to the plans of the airlines, the main targets would be the free-time travellers, especially British people; they want to offer them the best so-called “city break” destinations of the continent. Budapest is one of them, an appealing long-weekend destination. The schedule of the lines adapts to this: they transport on the afternoon, which one can catch really easily after the check-out in the hotels. The Hungarian travellers also win with the new line: the wider range of supply affects the prices favourably. Southend airport of London has a direct railway connection, the train arrives to Liverpool Street station in 50 minutes from here.
The demand for the lines between London and Budapest is inexhaustible. Balász Bogáts, line developing leader of Budapest Airport said that the number of British travellers increased by 14% this year, which is expected to be more than one and a half million in 2016. The expert is happy for the announcement of Flybe, because it is very important beside opening new lines that the supply is increasing towards the already existing destinations from Budapest by expanding the capacity or the appearance of new services.
