Budapest City Hall displays Vienna flag with black ribbon in honour of terror attack victims
Budapest’s City Hall has displayed the flag of Vienna marked with a black ribbon in a show of solidarity with the Austrian capital after a gunman killed four people in a rampage there on Monday night, Budapest Mayor Gergely Karácsony said on Facebook.
“Our twin city Vienna was the victim of a cowardly and nefarious attack yesterday evening,” Karácsony said. He said he and his Warsaw, Bratislava and Prague counterparts had expressed their condolences to Vienna Mayor Michael Ludwig.
“Only love can silence hate,” Karácsony said, quoting Pope Francis.
